😍 Big fan of the chart that VideoWeek made using Digital i's global, harmonised viewing data 😍 🖼 With the big streamers releasing first-party data surrounding total number of views at various frequencies, it's always nice to look at the big picture. 📢 Yes, we know what the biggest name titles are on these platforms because they're almost always announced. ❔ But when the global viewer isn't watching the next big release or high profile title, what are they doing? 📺 The truth is, much of the time, we consume streamed content the same way we consumed TV. 🌐 Sure, as consumers we are spoilt for choice with the vast availability of challenging, cutting-edge content that's released from all around the world straight to the little screen, but.... ☕ We still search for background comfort TV and although there aren't full days of reruns or repeats on SVOD, we curate our own viewing schedule to maintain that habit. What's your guilty pleasure long-running TV series? Mine are currently 🛥 Below Deck and 🏥 The Resident.

What does “The Bear” tell us about leadership and team dynamics? It seems like everybody has been talking about the FX-produced TV show "The Bear”. The great story telling reveals raw emotion, complex characters, a lot of swearing, and anxiety-inducing moments that resonate with real-life experiences. * Kitchen dynamics as a microcosm The fast-paced kitchen setting mirrors real-world team dynamics. By observing collaboration, conflict, and friendship, we gain insights into (effective or not so effective) teamwork. * Seeing beyond first impressions The characters often surprise us by revealing hidden depths, especially in Season 3. As leaders, we should look beyond initial judgments and recognize people’s multifaceted nature. * Balancing authenticity and conformity Teams often struggle with individuality versus alignment. Empathic leaders encourage self-expression while focusing on a shared purpose. * Change and alignment Change is uncomfortable, yet oftentimes essential. Leaders can guide teams through transitions by addressing concerns first. You can observe what happens when a leader fails to listen and communicate well. * Transparency and vulnerability Syd disrupts norms but builds trust through openness. It’s no secret that leaders who embrace vulnerability create an environment for stronger connections. “The Bear” really challenged me to sit with the discomfort. Also to observe and reflect on my own leadership practices, and to appreciate the dance of group dynamics. Something To Ponder: The best way to dig into the more uncomfortable nuances of difficult topics? Laugh about them! Tina Fey had really 'done a thing' here, one of her more "maveracky" achievments (if you get it, you get it). So much to unpack about life and business in this show, and laughing one's head off while at it. Now if one of the streaming platforms can also 'do a thing' and give this show a run one more time!
