As 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back at the incredible journey that brought us here – and to celebrate 15 remarkable years of Vazco! 🎉🥳 On November 16, 2009, Michał Zacher, our CEO, set out on an adventure that would become Vazco. Though many believe our name nods to the famed explorer Vasco da Gama, it actually comes from Michał’s nickname at the time! Fun fact: the original idea for Vazco was to organize cruises ⛵ – but destiny had other plans. Instead, we charted a course in IT, making our mark in the industry. Reflecting on these 15 years, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. From our early days in a small office in Opole under the name Elgg, we’ve grown into a well-established brand offering cutting-edge solutions worldwide. Our journey has been shaped by milestones, both big and small: building a unique tech stack, collaborating with fantastic partners, and joining ITCORNER, a thriving tech community of 120+ companies that’s helped us grow while maintaining our startup spirit. 🚀 Another highlight came in 2016 when we created uniforms, our very own React form library. Today, it’s recognized worldwide and continues to make an impact. In 2020, we adapted to the changing world by embracing remote work, creating a flexible environment that empowers our team to thrive from anywhere. Then came 2023 – a year of reinvention. With a fresh rebrand reflecting our focus on AI and global expansion, we’ve taken bold steps into new markets. 🌍 This year has been one for the books, and as we wrap it up, we’re filled with gratitude for the amazing clients, partners, and team members who’ve made this journey possible. Here’s to 15 years of innovation, resilience, and growth – and to the exciting horizons ahead! ⛵✨

Connecting the Dots… That was our Summer Offsite theme this year. 🤩 At awork, we have many great things going for us, as well as some challenges and opportunities ahead. Realizing what those are, where we want to go, and how we can best utilize our team’s strengths to unlock the next level of growth is what we spent the last week on. We kicked off with a keynote by Tobi that provided a high-level overview of these dots and the strategic direction. We then had Frederik Fleck join us remotely to share his invaluable insights into the startup funding situation from an investor perspective. Bernadette Hamann and Marvin Müller from OMR Reviews made their way up from Hamburg to talk about their perspective on the SaaS market and how companies are purchasing software at the moment. Julia Glöckner and Lucas Bauche shared strategic updates on a more focused customer profile as well as some ideas for what awork could look like in the future. After all these input sessions, it was finally time for the team to connect the dots. We set out and defined the projects we need to work on next quarter to reach the goals we’ve set for ourselves. We put up boards with the big topics we need to work on, then gave the team time to add ideas, questions, and thoughts to every project. In smaller groups, we then evaluated and prioritized all the ideas on the boards, worked on more concrete project plans for the next three months, and presented them to the rest of the team. What really impressed me: 👉 The number and level of questions from the team to our external speakers. 👉 The participation and motivation of every team member throughout those intense days. 👉 How well the agenda worked out, from high-level strategy to concrete projects, with everyone being involved in every step. 👉 How smoothly and hassle-free we managed to pull everything off. Therefore, I wanted to give big kudos to the entire team. 😍 Our offsites are a big part of our culture, and at the same time, they only work out so well because of this awesome culture we’re creating together. Can’t wait for next year! #offsite #team #joyofwork #teamevent

👋 Hallo DACH! Tons of inspirational people and discussions under one roof. That was the Stammtisch Wien event organized by Paul G. Putz and Peter Helesic from Danube Angels. Our Martina Pokorna introduced ARTIN to the representatives of Austrian startup tech companies, innovators, and investors. We are glad that our services resonated with the audience and that we had a chance to connect with bright minds such as Scott Galvao from circuly. It is a widespread stereotype (among many others) that nearshoring software development is suitable for big companies only. It doesn’t matter whether you have 5 IT employees, or 50 or 200. It is more about the right timing. Nearshoring whole projects or even just a part of your software development is always a good idea if: 🔸 you need additional hands but hiring new employees and their onboarding would be too time-consuming, 🔸 you are searching for developers with specific skills that are difficult to find on the market, 🔸 you need to speed up development to reach milestones in time, 🔸 you have reached a dead end and need guidance through the whole software development process. Why do we think so? Let’s talk! Write a comment below or contact our 🇩🇪 German-speaking Anna Budinska directly. #DACHregion #Nearshoring #SoftwareDevelopment

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to share a story with you today: In just four months, I’ve transformed a vision into tangible progress: -Laid the foundation for WelcomeBerlin, a platform to ease relocation challenges for newcomers to Berlin—language barriers, bureaucracy hurdles, and social integration. -Built a fully functional MVP prototype, secured a dev team, launched a website, established partnerships, and started assembling an incredible team. This journey began with my own struggles: Landing in Berlin, grappling with ticket machines, overpriced taxis, frustrating housing, and navigating bureaucracy without a guide. It was chaos. 🎯 That’s the problem I’m aiming to solve. But today, I hit a wall. Exhaustion slowed me down. Faith faltered. For the first time, I questioned everything. I was tired—mentally, physically, emotionally. Then came clarity: I needed rest. Pressure can push me, but it can also paralyze me. When that happens, i want to pause. Reset. Reignite. This weekend, I’ll read, reflect, and recharge. Because I know this isn’t the end—it’s a moment of renewal. What did I learn? To respect my body, nurture my spirit, embrace play, and trust the power of belief. Let’s keep moving forward. 👊 👊

Starting our 2nd founder retreat of the year with Arnaud Renoux. Here's what we're up to: When we started The Scalelab 4 years ago, we were both in separate cities. Arnaud in Singapore. Myself in Hong Kong. Covid hit and both of us were forced into working remotely. The first time we met in person was only 2 years after having started The Scalelab. While I think there a great benefits in being remote, I also believe that there are things a phone/video call can't achieve. Since then we decided to retreat more often. And from 2024, at least once a quarter. Our concept of a founder retreat is to work on: - Strategy - Vision - How to materialise it The point being to adjust our course and to see a lot farther. So last February, Arnaud and I met for our first founder retreat. And it was one of the most productive 10 days we ever spent. What we got out of it: 1/ For The Scalelab (our Agency) - Refined Ideal Customer Profile - Better product and better service delivery - Which means more leads for our clients - And in terms of sales for us: 3x the sales pipeline of the previous quarter 2/ For Scalelist (our SaaS) - Updated features for better delivery - New content strategy - 2x the revenue And overall, clarity around our vision and how we can materialise it. So this time the topics we're looking at are: - Doubling revenue for The Scalelab, and Scalelist - What do we want our personal brands to be in 10 years - Who we want to achieve this with It's primarily the question of how and where should we want to invest our time. And the least I can say is that I'm super excited about where we are headed to. Comment anything if you want to be kept posted on the frameworks we will implement to get there. Happy Sunday, happy Scaling. Youssef (and Arnaud), from Uluwatu, Bali.

Growth = Fun💃, Growth = Impact💫. And sometimes, Growth = Pain too😆 This week is Alva Labs’ bi-annual get-together in Stockholm (we call it “Stockholm on-site”, no more digital meetings with “can you see my screen?” and “do you hear me?” 😆). As we have colleagues all over Sweden and across Europe working remotely 100%, it's a nice opportunity to actually meet someone you might only ever talk through camera! Our CEO is on a 9-month parental leave (Sweden is amazing, right?), so our former COO- now as Interim CEO- ran the get-together and opened it with the usual rewind-reflect-forward. Someone used to told me, “I think many people idolising the idea of working in a startup. It's extremely painful and requires a lot of resilience. Growing is painful.” He's an angel investor, happened to be also a Swede, who invested in a series of small tech startups and VCs in Vietnam. Up to that point, I indeed thought “oh working in a startup is really cool.” Part of it because I already experienced it. My time at Propzy - a SaaS product for Vietnam real estate market back then in 2015-2016 period - was extraordinary. He did open new perspectives for me when thinking about growth perception, though. Or, I would say it's more about setting the right expectations. I definitely agree with Christopher here. Growth = impact. In any way, growing is a process where you learn, you experience, and you thrive. Somewhere along the road, you'll fall, and then it's the matter of how will you pick yourself up, tend the damages, patch things up, and then grow again, strongly, or slowly, it depends on you and your capabilities. That's when the impacts happen. Because now you have all the readiness to bounce (back) and become more mature and more experience. And yes, it's fun too. I've been learning it everyday since I started my journey in Sweden. After all, you're making the changes impacting everyone and everything around you, including yourself. It's a remarkable journey, one you should not just be doing, but be enjoying every single moment of it too. Let's go Day 2 of the Alva’s Stockholm on-site 💪👏 #growth #personaldevelopment
