✔ The European Chapters of buildingSMART International have joined forces to accelerate the digitalisation of the construction sector in Europe. 💪 For that purposse, European Chapters openBIM Forum was created in aim to provide technical assistance to both the European Commission and national governments on such relevant issues as the digitalisation of building permit processes, the circular economy and improving communications between the construction industry's supply chain. 👉 As a first action, the EOF has published a Manifesto, supported by buildingSMART International and the EUBIM Task Group, which advocates the use of openBIM standards to achieve a digitalised and sustainable built environment. ✔ You can find it here:

I'm happy about the publication of the EOF Manifesto by the European chapters of buildingSMART International. Naturally, one of the chapters mentioned in the manifesto is the Czech chapter. This includes members of the Odborná rada pro BIM (czBIM) - buildingSMART Czech Republic organization, which consists of key players involved in setting local standards and the most influential figures in the local BIM market. I hope that all these individual members will finally respect and promote the main principles of openBIM and the ISO/ČSN standards based on it, so ignorance and particular self-interests will fade away from the Czech discourse. 😉 #bim #openbim #czbim

This legislation, set to enter into force on January 1, 2025, incorporates comprehensive measures to combat climate change, streamline construction processes, and enhance the quality of building practices. A key component of the Act is the integration of digital building permits. The legislation mandates that building permits and land use plans be created in a machine-readable format, adhering to an interoperable data model. This shift is designed to improve the availability, reliability, and security of data, thereby facilitating more efficient construction processes and supporting the development of a circular economy.

With the Revit ProjectBox and OpeningsTransfer, the agreements made for each breakthrough could be transparently documented. Additionally, the process of continuous iteration and correction of approvals was enabled. EXPERIENCE REPORT During the comprehensive renovation of an administrative building by OBERMEYER, Autodesk Revit and the Revit ProjectBox from auxalia were used for slot and breakthrough planning. Specifically, the MagicOpening and OpeningsTransfer modules were used. These tools optimize communication and coordination between TGA specialists, architects, and structural engineers. The tools and workflows force the project participants to think through and define the exact process in advance. “The BIM-based slot and breakthrough planning, on the other hand, opens up enormous possibilities to make planning much more efficient by minimizing efforts and changes.” Standards and Guidelines VDI/bS 2552 Sheet 11.2 - Building Information Modeling - Information exchange requirements - Slot and breakthrough planning The following questions need to be answered in advance: ❇ Which faculties/ discipline are involved in the project? ❇ Are the slot and breakthrough planning specifications created jointly for the discipline? ❇ How is the structural engineer integrated into the planning? ❇ How many iterations of coordination are necessary? Define and limit the number of iterations. ❇ What general agreements are necessary in advance? ❇ How are changes recorded and distributed? ❇ What can the coordination look like in planning phases?
