The challenges are immense, but so are the rewards. Here's a thought that's been on my mind: How can we, as entrepreneurial parents, ensure that we're not just building successful businesses, but also raising children who are conscientious, compassionate, and future-ready? Lead by Example: Our children learn more from what we do than what we say. Let’s demonstrate integrity, resilience, and empathy in our daily actions. Involve Them Early: Share your entrepreneurial journey with your kids. Explain your work, celebrate the wins, and discuss the losses. This not only demystifies the entrepreneurial process but also teaches them valuable life lessons. Value-Driven Conversations: Engage in discussions about ethics, social responsibility, and the importance of making a positive impact. Encourage them to think about how they can contribute to a better world. Foster Curiosity and Creativity: Encourage your children to ask questions, think critically, and explore their interests. The entrepreneurial mindset thrives on curiosity and a willingness to innovate. Teach Financial Literacy: Equip them with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions. Understanding the value of money and how to manage it is crucial for future leaders. Prioritise Well-being: Emphasise the importance of mental and physical health. A balanced life leads to sustainable success. After all, our health is our wealth. I have my own ideas about procrastination. It’s not always a bad thing as so often perceived. Procrastination can be a positive thing because it can help us work and develop an idea before throwing it out there. It can help us to refine and polish in order to give real value to our clients. I see every idea as its own energetic entity which needs to be gestated and grown before it can be birthed. And that takes time. I had the idea of teaching young people how to start and run their own business from back when I took my kids out of the school system 12 years ago in order to teach them how to live and thrive in the world, while still having time to play, laugh, create, and develop self agency. All three of my children run micro enterprises for pocket money as I was never in a position to just hand them money. But I invested in their businesses and helped them grow, become profitable and experience the satisfaction of buying what they desired while learning all the valuable lessons along the way that will stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives. A couple of years ago I thought about teaching other young people to do the same but I wasn’t ready. I had my own obstacles to overcome and the idea needed to be nurtured until the right time came. When it did, through a collaboration with another home educating parent and virtual business owner, we decided to play safe and start with a very small scale pilot, promoted only in his group Homeschool Freedom Club for parents of home educated children. No other promotion, not even in my SM. Within days we were fully booked and now have a waitlist (also almost full) for September’s intake! And we haven’t even started the pilot! This has been a great lesson for me in my personal growth journey also. I am now ready and excited because I truly see so much potential. I want to expand the idea to teach other skills for teens and collaborate with the care system, foster care providers, Youth Justice, I want to reach the kids lost in our broken delabitated outdated ‘education’ system, those geniuses who can’t conform because they are inventors, entrepreneurs, out of the box thinkers, square pegs who were never ever meant to fit in anyone’s round holes. My heart is bursting with joy at the opportunity to give these forgotten kids the tools to succeed and thrive and realise their dreams and potential. From a dream to a thriving reality: How creating a daycare changed my life and the lives of so many families. 🚀 When I first opened Kids Creative Care while running a large new vehicle dealership operation, I knew I wanted to create more than just a daycare—I wanted to build a safe, nurturing, and creative environment where children could thrive and parents could feel confident. Fast forward to today. Together with my daughter running the center, I’m proud to share how far we’ve come: 👉 15,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities 👉 Over 200 children under our care 👉 Generating $2.5 million in annual revenue This growth didn’t happen overnight, and it certainly didn’t happen without challenges. Want your kids to succeed in life? Let them fail more often. Here's why.... When I taught coding in schools, I noticed something. The kids who learned fastest weren't the 'smartest' ones. They were the ones who got things wrong the most.... And kept going. Here's why failure is your child's superpower: → Failure builds resilience → Mistakes create new neural pathways → Problems develop problem-solving skills → Setbacks boost creativity → Struggles increase determination Research shows our brains grow most when we engage with challenges and learn from mistakes - it's called neuroplasticity. And when kids correct their mistakes, they learn better than if they'd gotten it right the first time. This is 'productive failure' - the brain actually pays more attention after a mistake. But, it's hard. We want to protect our kids. We want to help them get things right. We don't want them to feel failure, frustration, anger, and feeling inadequate. And often we don't have the time to wait for them to fail to e.g. tie their shoes up properly (or whatever it is they are trying to do) - so we step in and do it for them. "How do you define a successful life?" That’s the question Whitney Webb asks her clients in order to establish trust and set the stage for effective communication. She points to one answer that made a significant impact on her life: Success is defined as our ability to adapt and grow gracefully. Whitney Webb has clearly demonstrated a capacity to adapt and grow throughout her life and career (unsure if she would characterize it as graceful). A researcher in a NYC hedge fund; a Kiva Fellow in Kigali, Rwanda; a director in firms serving UHNW multi-gen families, Whitney brings a competence and wisdom – born through experience – to everything she does. These days, Whitney is Managing Director of Governance and Education at Cresset Capital, a boutique family office and private wealth management firm, where she helps prepare families for the responsibilities and challenges of wealth transfer. Whitney is also founder of Launch Generation, which produces experiential programs for teenagers focused on financial literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship (there next program is this July). Open to teens from all backgrounds including rising gen inheritors and those from partner non-profits, Whitney explained “we help our group build confidence in leveraging all forms of capital to reach their goals. Working with this cohort is one of my favorite parts of the year. HOW HAS THIS WORK CHANGED YOU? I used to consider myself an empathetic and communicative person but my role working with families and rising gens has humbled me and shown that those traits aren’t effective on autopilot. I’ve learned to day-by-day practice and choose empathy, and work to intentionally communicate both in my personal life and career. WHAT WOULD THE TITLE OF YOUR BOOK BE? In my early 20’s I had a travel blog called “I Probably Should be Working…” As I moved through the exploratory phase and have landed in what I see as my dream career, I think my modern-day version would be “How Did I Not Know This Was a Job?” or “I Get to Call This Work?” I wish I had known when I was younger and feeling lost that I couldn’t envision my future because I didn’t know it was an option! WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE? My mission is to do good and do well. I want to help change the narrative that we are either selfless do-gooders who live paycheck to paycheck OR we are self-involved and greedy. Most people in the 21/64 community live and work in the wonderful gray area that taking care of ourselves IS taking care of the world, but it still seems black and white to many. LAST SHOW YOU BINGED? I’ve rewatched the Great British Baking Show way too many times. That is my kind of “competition.” The kids’ versions especially restore all my faith in humanity.

Almost a year ago today, I made a life-changing decision to homeschool my son. As an entrepreneur and mom of four, my plate was already full, but I couldn’t ignore what I was seeing: My son was struggling in a traditional school environment. His anxiety was growing, and the love for learning I knew he had was slowly fading. It broke my heart. I realized that if I wanted him to thrive, I needed to create a learning environment that supported him emotionally, met him where he was, and gave him the space to grow. So, I took a leap of faith and brought him home to learn. What happened next was nothing short of transformational. In just a few months: ✨ His anxiety lessened. ✨ His confidence soared. ✨ He began to progress at a pace I hadn’t seen before. By tailoring his education to his needs and allowing him to learn in a calm, supportive environment, I saw firsthand how powerful homeschooling can be. And honestly? It’s been just as transformative for me as a mom and entrepreneur. Homeschooling taught me to embrace flexibility, creativity, and patience—not just in my parenting but in how I approach my business. I’m more present, more aligned with my purpose, and more motivated than ever to help other families find their own version of success through education.
