Engineers are often the forgotten contributors to aviation, being "behind the scenes" of every (safe) aircraft movement. AeroProfessional Limited's whitepaper - Engineer Skills Shortage - The Risk to Aviation's Future, lifts the lid on how the industry needs to adapt in order to mitigate this threat and increase the number of Aviation Engineers entering the profession. https://lnkd.in/eFm5_Hik #EngineerSkillsShortage #AviationRecruitment #AeroProfessionalWhitepapers
It’s about time that the aviation industry starts waking up to the fact that, unless we do something quickly, we will soon not have enough technicians and engineers to service our fleets. In my view, we need to: - Pay them better, with a higher salary ladder overall giving them better prospects for the future. - Improve overall working conditions, including better overtime pay, job-security and benefits. - Reach out to schools, explaining the upsides of these roles to the younger generation. - Try to attract more women into the roles. It’s time to give some serious attention to these, the less seen roles in aviation, who keeps our aircraft safe and flying. https://lnkd.in/dSzmA_Cu

🛫 Boeing faces an ongoing storm amid incidents and now a raging strike. in its 6th year of subdued production, low delivery targets will again be missed. Airbus is doing better, though also likely falls short it's delivery target in 2024. There's at least three problems for the aviation sector associated with the struggling aerospace industry: ✈️ Capacity remains tight for airlines and fleet replacement programmes (fuel efficiency) are at stake. ✈️ It's getting even more challenging to get the highly specialized supply chain up to speed again after the issues subside. 🌎 And importantly: the multiple year issues distract manufacturers from future generation (low emission) aircraft development efforts required for the future of aviation. Given all of the struggles we can't miss out on ramping up blending #SAF. More about this in this recent publication: https://lnkd.in/ejH3ZNgq https://lnkd.in/erfcKdue

After weeks of tense negotiations, Boeing’s labor strike has officially ended, with machinists securing a 38% wage increase and improved job security. But while this is a win for workers, the ripple effects on the aviation industry—especially MROs—are significant 🌍. Can the MRO industry meet the increased demand for services that will inevitably follow? The answer lies in the preparation of MRO providers. With Boeing now tasked with catching up on delayed production 🛠️, MRO providers are bracing for a surge in demand for maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. Boeing has officially resumed production of its highly sought-after 737 MAX jetliner, a crucial move as the company navigates a significant backlog of around 4,200 orders. This restart follows the resolution of a seven-week strike involving approximately 33,000 workers, which temporarily halted production lines but emphasized the demand and reliance on the workforce. As industrial demand continues to rise, the 737 MAX remains central to Boeing's strategic operations. Despite past challenges, including tragic accidents and production limits set by the FAA due to safety considerations, Boeing remains steadfast in its plans to accelerate output. Analysts from Jefferies project an average production rate of 29 planes per month by 2025, underscoring Boeing's ambition to scale operations and meet growing market needs. This reactivation not only highlights Boeing’s resilience but also points to broader trends in the aerospace industry where manufacturing capacity and skilled labor play vital roles. As airlines prepare for a surge in global travel, the 737 MAX positions Boeing to capitalize on renewed demand while ensuring compliance with rigorous safety standards. Stay tuned for more updates on Boeing and the evolving landscape of the aerospace industry. #Boeing #737MAX #Aerospace #Manufacturing #ProductionRestart #AviationIndustry #BusinessGrowth #AircraftOrders #IndustrialDemand #AerospaceTrends #Workforce #AviationSafety #ManufacturingExcellence #BoeingRecovery #IndustryInsights #AerospaceInnovation https://lnkd.in/dmuB5DC7

Boeing workers are among the most skilled and dedicated in the world. Their work drives not just the success of the company, but the prosperity of our district and our global aviation industry. I stand in full solidarity with these workers as they fight for fair wages, safer working conditions, and stronger quality control standards. For too long, Boeing's management has prioritized profits over the workers who are the backbone of the company's success. Now, as Boeing faces public and regulatory distrust after a series of scandals, it's the workers—through their dedication and push for stronger oversight—who are leading the charge to rebuild trust and secure the company's future. This is more than just a negotiation for wages or benefits—it's about restoring the integrity of Boeing and ensuring a sustainable future. As a former union member and advocate for workers' rights, I know the power of a single renegotiation to transform the financial security of countless workers and set a company on a path to long-term success. Now is the time for Boeing to invest in the people who make its success possible. Let’s stand with the workers who are fighting for a better, safer Boeing. 💪✈️ #SupportBoeingWorkers #FairWages #UnionStrong #WorkerSolidarity #VoteMelissa4Congress

Good news for Boeing.....or is it? https://lnkd.in/e3M9AmpG The Boeing machinists strike is over after 54 days and the return to work could start as early as tomorrow. A huge sound of relief can be heard from Boeing management and airlines across the world who have been waiting (and waiting) for delivery of aircraft, especially the 787-max series. Only yesterday, Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline told Bloomberg that they expected to be short of nine new 737-Max 10 in peak summer 2025, with deliveries falling into Q4, well after the summer peak. This has led to Ryanair reducing its 2025 pax forecast by 5M pax, down to 210M. But all should be good now going forward? I am not so sure. 59% of workers voted in favour of the new deal BUT that means 41% voted against (I am assuming that there were zero don't knows!) 41% is a significant number accounting for about 12,300 workers who are not happy with the new deal. The new Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, will have his work cut out for him trying engage with his workforce and generate a new culture, when 12,300 of your staff are not happy with the new deal. Best of luck. Expect more grumblings and a heightened negotiation in 2028, when this new deal expires. #aviation #Boeing #airports #aircraft #airlines
