Unleash Your Inner Leader: The Magic of Stillness in the Hustle Leadership isn't just about making decisions or directing actions; it's a delicate dance between movement and stillness, dynamism and quiet contemplation. This secret lies hidden in the timeless wisdom of the Upanishads, unveiled by a cryptic phrase: तदेजति तन्नेजति (yājñīyamantrōpaniṣat / iśōpaniśat 5) tadējati tannējati That moves, and that moves not Think of it like this: That moves: the go-getter in you, taking action, making things happen. ⚡ That moves not: the wise sage within, reflecting, finding inner clarity. ♀️ In the hustle and bustle of daily tasks, it's easy to get caught up in the frenzy of movement. But true leaders understand the value of pausing, of taking a step back to contemplate, to breathe, and to listen to the whispers of intuition. Effective leaders, like skilled dancers, weave both seamlessly. ✨ They know when to hustle and when to pause, fueling action with wisdom and vision with groundedness. This holistic approach lets us see the big picture while staying present in the daily grind, leading with an authenticity fueled by both reflection and experience. This creates a ripple effect of positive change, as our balanced approach inspires others to find their own rhythm, ultimately leading to a wave of transformation. It's not just about taking charge, it's about leading with wisdom and heart. #Leadership #SanskritQuote #VedicWisdom #PearlsOfWisdom #BalancedLeadership

Hatred and unpopularity at the moment have fallen to the lot of all who have aspired to rule others; but where odium must be incurred, true wisdom incurs it for the highest objects. - Pericles (History of the Peloponnesian War, book 2, Late 430s BC to 411 BC) The quote highlights that leaders often face criticism and unpopularity, especially when making tough decisions. However, true wisdom involves accepting this backlash for the sake of higher goals. Modern leaders must prioritise long-term vision and ethical objectives, even if it means enduring temporary disapproval, to achieve meaningful and impactful outcomes. Philosopher King Concept: Practical Wisdom in Leadership Date: July 9, 2024 Philosopher King Concept: Musonius Rufus asserts that a good king inherently becomes a philosopher and vice versa. This means a wise and just ruler must also possess philosophical insight and wisdom to govern effectively. The concept of the philosopher king dates back to ancient philosophical traditions, notably championed by Musonius Rufus. He argued that a truly good king is naturally a philosopher. The idea is that effective governance requires wisdom, justice, and a deep understanding of human nature—all hallmarks of philosophical insight. For Rufus, the overlap between philosophy and rulership isn't coincidental but necessary for the well-being of the state. General Halevi believes that philosophy is crucial in leadership and warfare. Contrary to popular belief, he finds philosophy highly practical in making ethical decisions, prioritizing tasks, achieving balance, and maintaining clarity in leadership roles. Modern leaders share this sentiment. In high-stakes environments where decisions carry significant consequences, the philosophical foundation aids leaders in navigating ethical dilemmas, setting priorities, and maintaining balance. Halevi's perspective challenges the notion that philosophy is merely abstract, instead highlighting its role in fostering clarity and ethical decision-making in real-world scenarios. Infact, Plato's famous book "The Republic" even envisioned a perfect society ruled by philosopher kings – essentially, incredibly wise leaders. He believed that for a society to be just and harmonious, its leaders must be both intelligent and fair, prioritizing the common good over personal gain. Philosophy, in Plato's view, trains leaders to do just that, by teaching them to be just, make sound decisions, and focus on what's best for everyone. The concept extends beyond literal kings. The idea of a philosopher king applies to anyone who leads in any way, like in families, businesses, or even your own life. Philosophy helps you think critically, reason ethically, and see things from all sides – all crucial aspects of good leadership. By engaging with philosophical ideas, anyone can become a better decision-maker, navigate complex situations, and lead with integrity. #growth #selfhelp #selfreflection #quotes #quote #art #artists #leadership #leader #ceo #stoic #stoicism #artist #mindset #success #life #worklifebalance

Purpose is inner BEAUTY. Purpose gives birth to a VISION, the Vision begins leadership which is BECOMING, growth and development. Therefore, “Ubuhle bendoda zinkomo zayo.” (The beauty of a man is his cows.) Toss away not only the thinking, but also the doctrine! Henceforth, “Ubuhle bendoda nguMbono(the Vision) wayo!”(The beauty of a man is his VISION). Beauty is on the inside! Leadership begins on the inside! Life is on the side! Inner beauty is PRIMARY, original Purpose is PRIMARY! “Where there is NO VISION[original Purpose unknown, NO LIGHT], the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”Pro29:18 Unless and until the original Purpose is discovered, self leadership is NOT possible! Until self leadership is achieved first NO leadership is possible beyond self. #life #purpose #vision #motivation #selfknowledge #selfmastery #selfawareness #trueleadership #ethicalleadership #authenticleadership #leadershipdevelopment

Like Tim Logan, we're also holding this question... In fact, we will be playing with this question in the context of social media technologies in an upcoming Scape. Currently most social media's promote many of the worst human traits, are incentivised to constantly innovate better form of attention-hacking, and externalise all these costs upon society. What if there were a few simple tweaks that could transform social media? That could attempt to bind the sociopathic niche in this arena? This is the question I am holding this morning... to which, before you go there, there are no easy partisan answers to. 🤔 ❤️ 🌍 "What is the evolutionary niche for the sociopathic, narcissistic property to be selected for? And how would we close that niche? Because promoting wisdom, where it will always lose game-theoretically, is not that interesting. So there's something about the relationship of wisdom and power, and I would even say wisdom has to bind... it's a 'Master-Emissary' thing. And I know this is very uncomfortable, as it should be... But if the Master doesn't bind the Emissary, then everything's broken, and so that which is power-seeking has to actually be bound, which requires power by something that is not power-seeking in the same way. Which is why Taoism says, "The one who wants to lead, everybody should run away from. The one who doesn't want to lead and everyone pushes into leadership, maybe you can listen to." "Arete" - a term that encapsulates the essence of excellence in its most profound form. This concept, revered by the Greeks, symbolizes the pinnacle of human achievement across moral, physical, and spiritual realms. This notion was not only central to the Stoics' philosophy but remains relevant to our pursuits today. Yet, the path to arete isn't simply paved with talent, inspiration, or technical skill. It demands a deeper philosophical commitment. Echoing this sentiment, writer Will Durant summarized, "We are what we repeatedly do... therefore, excellence is not an act, but a habit." #LeadYourselfFirst #Perspective #Leadership

The Tao of Leadership (or of anything really) - isn’t JUST about going with the flow; it’s also about recognizing the interconnectedness of everything and everyone… “the ‘Tao of Leadership’ isn’t just an injunction telling us to chill out… it’s more about understanding ourselves in connection with others and our changing context and finding ways to express that understanding naturally and organically in how we act in the world.” Full article: https://lnkd.in/ew5K5hXu

Today is Day 47 of the #100to2025LinkedInVideoChallenge, and today we discussed the theme of “Power of Words,” which was based on Proberbs 18:21 and asserts that the power of Life and Death is in the power of the tongue. If we believe that we are made in the Imago Dei (Image of God), and God literally uses words to speak things into existence, then wouldn’t it make perfect sense that WE, too, can speak something from nothing?! And the the primary connections to the SOULARISE Leadership Model are: Vocalize Your Vision (literally using your words to articulate the future you want to bring into fruition), Revel In Wisdom (having your go to sacred texts that literally contain the words that speak peace, joy, strength, courage, hope, etc. over your life!) and Grow In Fellowship (surrounding yourself with the people who speak life into and over you). I would LOVE to hear from YOU about how you might be more of a magnet for mayhem instead of magnificence because of the words you are putting out there…and consider ways that you can flip those ideas on their head.

Six C's of Leadership by Pst John Musyimi of Rehoboth Open Spaces Ministry 1. Character A leader's integrity and moral compass are essential. Proverbs 10:9: “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.” 2. Caring Genuine concern for others builds trust and loyalty. Philippians 2:4: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others.” 3. Competence 》Competence is critical to effectively and accurately perform your function, fulfill your responsibilities, and inspire confidence in those you lead. 》Effective leadership requires the skills and knowledge to guide others. 2 Timothy 2:15: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” 4. Consistency Being steady and reliable fosters confidence among those you lead. Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” 5. Credibility Credibility is the foundation of effective leadership. It’s about being trustworthy, reliable, and authentic in your words and actions. A credible leader earns respect by consistently aligning their values with their behavior and delivering on their promises. Proverbs 22:1 reminds us, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.” Leaders with credibility inspire confidence, foster loyalty, and motivate others to follow their vision. It’s not just about having the title but earning the trust that comes with it. 6. Communication A great leader listens well and communicates with clarity and wisdom. Proverbs 15:23: “To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!” "Leadership is not about titles or positions—it’s about impact, influence, and serving others with integrity and purpose. True leaders inspire by example, empower others to grow, and leave a legacy of positive change." Blessed New Month, and blessed Sunday. #AskGodsann
