The new name, 'Ganatantra Mandap,' symbolises the republic's deep-rooted concept in Indian society, emphasising the importance of this transformation. 'Ashok Hall' was originally a ballroom. Renaming it to 'Ashok Mandap' aligns with the legacy of Emperor Ashok, symbolising unity and peaceful coexistence. This change not only removes traces of anglicisation but also upholds the key values associated with the name 'Ashok.' The National Emblem of India, the lion capital of Ashok from Sarnath, reinforces the relevance and importance of this name change. These modifications aim to bring uniformity in language and reflect the significance of the names in Indian traditions, arts, and culture. As stated by Rashtrapati Bhavan, "Continuous efforts are being made to make it more accessible to people." Additionally, 'Durbar Hall' is the venue of important ceremonies and celebrations such as the presentation of National Awards. The term 'Durbar' refers to courts and assemblies of Indian rulers and the British. It lost relevance after India became a Republic, ‘Ganatantra’." Recently, the issue of Muslim reservations has gain a prominent place in both conventional and digital media, especially following the induction of Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar into the NDA government. However, the idea of exclusive Muslim reservations is misleading. Muslims from backward sections already benefit from reservations under the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category. In some states, even upper-caste Muslims receive benefits under OBC (B) reservations. Additionally, the EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) quota provides opportunities to all deprived individuals, regardless of birth, race, or region. It's important to note that Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Scheduled Castes (SCs) ' Muslims do face specific difficulties. Rather than providing exclusive reservations for Muslims, it would be more effective to grant constitutional status to underprivileged Muslims by including them within the STs and SCs categories. If this isn't feasible, the focus should be on providing reservations specifically for underprivileged Muslims rather than Muslims as a general group. Caste issues among Muslims have never been a significant part of Indian politics. This might be due to the dominance of upper-caste Muslims in powerful institutions, including Bollywood, or because caste distinctions do not stem out of religious codes.
