"The Importance of a Resume - It's All About Marketing!" Imagine this: You want to marry the love of your life. You're well-settled, have a great character, and you're confident you'd make a wonderful partner. But here's the catch—does she automatically say yes just because of all that? Probably not, right? 😅 In fact, she wouldn't even know any of these things without looking at your photo or speaking to you first. The truth is, no matter how amazing you are, people won’t know unless you tell them. You have to market yourself! It’s the same with landing a job. Your resume is your first impression; it’s how you tell the world who you are, what you’re capable of, and why you’re the perfect match for that dream role. Don’t assume your skills and achievements will speak for themselves. You’ve got to present them right—concise, powerful, and tailored to your audience. The right resume can open doors, just like the right words can win hearts! So, is your resume telling your story? #ResumeTips #CareerAdvice #JobSearch #PersonalBranding #MarketingYourself #FirstImpressionsMatter #CareerGrowth #JobHunt #ResumeBuilding #CareerSuccess

Your resume is an opportunity to tell your story and highlight what sets you apart. Here are a few tips that might help: PERSONAL TOUCH: A strong summary at the top can grab attention. Just a couple of sentences about who you are and what you bring to the table can make a big difference. YOUR UNIQUE SKILLS: Instead of just listing your skills, explain how they make you distinct. Maybe you have a unique combination of experiences that others might not have. NUMBERS: Adding numbers to your achievements can be very effective. Use percentages, targets, and other metrics to quantify your success. PASSION PROJECTS: If you’ve worked on any side projects or done volunteer work, include those. They can highlight your dedication and personality. TARGET INDUSTRY FOCUS: It might take a little extra effort, but tailoring your resume for your target industry really pays off. Research the specific skills, keywords, and trends most relevant to your desired field. What makes you unique? #resume #resumewritingtips #resumetips #beyourself #jobsearch #JosephGioveServices

Its a New Year and the PERFECT time to freshen up your resume and LinkedIn profile... especially if you are not looking. Change is the only constant and you want to be at the ready or close enough to it that you can take action as quickly as you need to. A few tips to consider: ✔️ 1st page of your resume is the "front of your house" - get as much content into the 1st page while still being readable. Make sure your name, email, phone and online profiles are on each page and every version of your resume. Easy to place those details in the header to repeat on each page. ✔️ Resume should reflect the positions you have had as well as your skills and impact that are relevant to the role you are applying for. Its the opportunity to tell a story about you, your experience to date, and what your CURRENT AND RELEVANT skills, knowledge, qualifications, certifications, etc... are. ✔️ Do your best to focus on 3-5 bullet points under each role that reflect what you did, what was the outcome and how you did it... don't list the tasks that would be found on the job description. Example: Created a social media campaign which increased 20% reach by creating engaging, out of the box videos. ✔️ Your resume doesn't need to or shouldn't reflect your entire work history - keep it relevant to the role you want next and keep it condensed to the last 10-15 years. Your LinkedIn profile can reflect all the roles you have had. ✔️ Don't forget to ask select managers and coworkers you have worked with to write you a recommendation on LinkedIn. Those really help you stand out when the time comes to find your next move. ✔️ If you have a dated picture on LinkedIn, consider putting up a new one. #newyear #refreshyourresume #freshenupyouronlineprofilepicture #keepanactivenetwork

Your resume is more than just a list of jobs—it's a snapshot of your career journey. 🛤️ A good resume doesn't just highlight your skills and experience; it tells a story of who you are as a professional. Every role, project, and accomplishment contributes to the bigger picture. So, take a step back and ask yourself: ➡️ What’s the throughline that connects the dots between roles? ➡️ What types of projects am I consistently asked to take on? ➡️ What problems do I consistently solve? ➡️ What am I most proud of? ➡️ What's the legacy I want to have? ➡️ What have I learned, and how have I grown along the way? A resume should be a reflection of you—not just a laundry list of tasks. It's your personal brand in one document. Make it count. #ResumeTips #PersonalBranding #CareerGrowth #TheJobGirl

Have you ever felt frustrated because you have not received responses to the résumés you have recently submitted? It is normal to feel this way - but it’s also normal for job seekers to, 1. respond to postings that are not congruent with their current career history or skills set, 2. to implement only one or two résumé marketing strategies, or 3. to expect results on a minimum number of résumé submissions. In order to find the best opportunities for the next step in your career journey, it’s important to think outside-the-box a little more than your closest competitor, to dig-in and develop thoughtful applications to the job postings you are most excited about and confident you could excel in - and to cast your net much wider than you might think is necessary! 📖 💪 #jobsearch #jobsearchhelp #careertransition #careerhelp #careercoach #careerchange #careermoves #careergrowth #careerbook #nonfictionbooks #canadianauthor #TheEmpoweredJobSeeker
