When my students first approach me with questions about yoga, they often wonder whether it will truly improve their health. I always recommend that they attend a week to ten days of classes. This way, they can experience the benefits firsthand before deciding whether to continue. After attending these classes, they usually feel happy and enthusiastic about continuing their journey, starting each day with yoga. Without experiencing yoga, we cannot truly understand its essence. We all know that health is wealth, yet many of us neglect our well-being and compromise our health. This should not be the case. Taking care of our health is essential, and experiencing yoga firsthand can be a powerful step toward better health.

I don’t believe there is just one right yoga practice out there. I do believe that there are MANY yoga practices out there that can be supportive and helpful. Finding what works for you in the moment is the real key. If your yoga practice isn’t supporting you as it used to, it might be time to listen more closely to your body. Ask it what it needs right now. Ask how you can support it. Listen inward so that you can hear the messages that your body is trying to send you. Only then can you create your own favorite yoga practice.

Want to build daily Yoga practice? Be less sporadic, and more systematic. Consistent, small efforts every day build neural pathways, making the behavior automatic over time. Studies show that habits form more effectively through regular, repeated practice rather than sporadic, lengthy sessions. So, focus on practicing a little everyday, and watch your Yoga skills grow effortlessly. But you already know that, then why is it difficult to be consistent with your Yoga practice? Answer is - unsustainable practice hours. 10 minutes repeated practice everyday is better than random 2 hours once a month. Start small and gradually increase duration over time. All the best and follow Body Mind Alliance for simpler solutions for better results.

“Hey, did you know that in classical yoga, there are two main parts? Yep, it’s like a dynamic duo! There’s the part about gaining knowledge and understanding, and then there are the actual practices. Now, here’s the secret sauce: to really make yoga work its magic, you gotta do both every single day. That means learning about it, soaking up all that wisdom, and then rolling up your sleeves and getting into the actual practices. It’s like a daily dose of superhero training for your body and mind. So, let’s dive in, learn, and practice together – that’s how we’ll unlock the true power of yoga!”

CONVERSATION STARTER : Let’s talk about yoga misconceptions. Do you think it’s all about floating like a sage or bending into impossible poses? It shouldn’t be that hard! What does yoga mean to you? Many people misunderstand the idea of connecting your body and mind through breath. Yoga is about finding balance, where you can just breathe through your practice and life. It shouldn’t feel overly spiritual (that takes decades) or like a punishment leaving you sore for days. Yoga is a mindful practice that helps your body unlock its potential, so when life throws curveballs, you can breathe, step back, and handle it with clarity and calmness.

"Light on Yoga" by B.K.S. Iyengar is a cornerstone in yoga literature, providing an exhaustive guide to all aspects of yoga. Published in 1966, it has been a valuable resource for practitioners and instructors alike. The book is divided into three sections: Introduction, Practice, and Theory. It covers over 200 yoga postures with detailed instructions, and includes insights into the philosophy of yoga, focusing on the eight limbs as outlined by Patanjali. Iyengar’s contributions extend beyond postures; he delves into pranayama
