Step towards Green supply chain 🌱🌎 A green supply chain or sustainable network could be defined as the operational management method and optimization approach to reduce the environmental impact. These activities should lead to economic growth, environmental protection, and social progress for green technology utilization. To achieve sustainable development, the supply chain does not only focus on transportation/logistic tasks. Special focus must be given to the latest conservation of biomass (mass and energy) In February 2023, RIL and Ashok Leyland unveiled India’s first hydrogen internal combustion engine (H2ICE) technology solution for heavy-duty trucks.Later that month, RIL with Olectra Greentech, a subsidiary of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures (MEIL), unveiled a hydrogen bus. In July 2023, RIL collaborated with Bharat Benz for India's first intercity luxury concept coach powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology. Today's Manufacturing Must-Reads! Jakson Green announced on Wednesday that it has secured an order from NTPC to set up a cutting-edge plant in Lara, Chhattisgarh, to produce 4G ethanol from flue gas. This facility will generate 10 tonnes of 4G ethanol daily using #advanced carbon capture technology from Veolia Carbon Clean, capturing 25 tonnes of CO2 per day from power plant emissions, significantly reducing #greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the plant will produce 3 tonnes of green hydrogen per day using a 7.5 MW electrolyser. The captured CO2 and green hydrogen will be converted into 4G ethanol through advanced microbial fermentation #technology provided by LanzaTech Inc. Jakson Green will act as the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction (LEPC) partner for this ambitious project, which is expected to commence operations within two years.
