The main power storage battery of the spacecraft is lithium battery Starting from Shenzhou 18 manned spacecraft, the main power storage battery has been upgraded and replaced from the previous nickel-cadmium battery to lithium battery. The researchers explained, "Lithium batteries have a longer cycle life and no memory effect. When dealing with complex working conditions, no special maintenance work is required. Compared with cadmium-nickel batteries, lithium batteries have a stronger energy retention capacity".
