The facts are simple: Amendment 3 would give Floridians access to safe, regulated product, put an end to needless marijuana-related arrests, generate significant tax revenue and strengthen the safety of +30,000 industry employees across the state. Hear more from Verano Chief Operating Officer, Trip McDermott, and other industry peers on what a recreational market might look like (hint, it's quite similar to the 24 other states that have successfully rolled out adult-use programs). https://bit.ly/3UuX9kH

This article provides an insightful update on the pitiful current state of Colorado's cannabis market. From my decade of experience in the industry, the key takeaway is clear: without a political champion in the statehouse or the capitol, the industry faces the risk of collapse due to bureaucratic inaction. It's hard to believe this is what Coloradans envisioned when they voted to amend the state constitution to include cannabis provisions. If you are not ok with your constitutional rights being ignored now is the time to reach out to your state and local officials. #CannabisIndustry #ColoradoCannabis #CannabisReform #PolicyChange #ColoradoPolitics #IndustryInsights #2024Election #Vote2024 #Election2024 #YourVoteMatters #FutureOfCannabis

The fresh German cannabis rules are actually quite bizarre.. You have to be a member of a cannabis club for at least three months to buy weed, and each club must have a prevention officer on duty. And when you finally get to buy your weed, you have to consume it at home, where you're not even allowed to share your joint with friends. Anyway, the absurdity of the cannabis rules in Germany becomes crystal clear when you watch this hilarious video... #germany #legaliserung #cannabis #THC

Today’s cannabis industry has potential, but it needs real change. This insightful piece by William “KC” Klens and Shaleen Title from the Parabola Center for Law and Policy sheds light on what political leaders are missing: an equitable industry plan and freedom for those still imprisoned over cannabis. With Trump headed back in office and the Trulieve-backed bill failing, it's clear we need to get organized. A better, fairer future is possible if we all push together. #BetterDaysAreOnTheWay #CannabisReform #SocialEquity https://lnkd.in/gBXPYCxh

The NJ federal district court ruling confirms the adage: bad facts make for bad law. The Court rejected the obvious constitutional violations -- disparate treatment between in-state and out-of-state-product, and restrictions on interstate transport -- but now the whole hemp industry is to be regulated by the CRC which doesn't have regulations for hemp. We are left where we started and should have stopped, with a ban on sales to those under 21 years. #legalhemp #hemp #hemplaw #cannabis #mblawfirm

UPDATE: the 4th part of the series "Who Wins and Who Loses Once the U.S. Legalizes Weed?" is now out. tl;dr winners and losers are still TBD! Stephen Dubner and the team at Freakonomics have an excellent 4-part series on the #cannabis industry including a segment called "Cannabis is Booming So Why Isn't Anyone Getting Rich?" If you want to understand the basic #economics of the industry and how difficult it is to operate at all, let alone profitably, this is a great summary. It's worth a listen as they dive into the biggest issues. including: 1) State my state #taxes and #regulations 2) The onerous federal tax code on "illegal business" (cannabis is legal in 30+ states but not federally legal), and 3) The illicit market is twice as big as the legal market making it extremely difficult to compete. I recommend listening to all 3 segments that have dropped and I'll look forward to the 4th.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and 17 Democratic Senators have introduced a bill for federal cannabis legalization, aligning with President Joe Biden’s campaign promises. However, the likelihood of passage remains uncertain given strong opposition from prominent Republicans like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Mike Johnson. Despite the challenges, the bipartisan effort to integrate Secure and Fair Enforcement Regulation (SAFER) banking provisions into critical aviation legislation showcases ongoing commitment to advancing cannabis reform. The dialogue on cannabis continues to evolve, both nationally and globally. While immediate outcomes are uncertain, the direction is promising, suggesting positive momentum toward broader cannabis legalization. #FederalCannabisLegalization #CannabisReform #DrugPolicy #BipartisanEffort #SAFERBankingProvisions #PositiveMomentum #MarijuanaMoment
