Verdantas Flow Labs’ Post

We’re At the Forefront of Fish Protection. 🐟🛟 Verdantas Flow Labs recently completed an update to EPRI’s guidance on designing and maintaining fish return systems (FRS), a critical part of protecting aquatic life at water intake structures. These EPRI guidelines help FRS designs minimize stressors that can lead to fish injury and mortality, aiding power generation facilities and other large water intake operators in achieving compliance with Section 316(b) of the Clean Water Act. The original 2015 EPRI FRS guidance, also developed by Flow Labs (while under Alden ownership), has been a highly utilized reference within the industry. Since its initial publication there have been many real-world applications of the EPRI Guidelines in FRS design development. Through these projects, unique site-specific challenges and gaps in FRS design were identified and addressed in the updated EPRI Guidelines. Kudos to our team – Dan Giza, Nathaniel Olken, Jenna Rackovan, and Michael Bernard – for their expert work in advancing sustainable solutions for the energy and manufacturing industries. ⚡ More information related to these updated guidelines can be found on the EPRI webpage: https://lnkd.in/e8AhAd9z #WeAreVerdantas #FlowLabs #EnvironmentalCompliance
