Curious about the future of #electrification in port logistics? Our latest paper is out, exploring when and how yard tractors can be cost-effectively transitioned to electric power. Kudos to Erika Olivari, Claudia Caballini, Tiziano Carotta, and prof. Dalla Chiara. Together we've analyzed the technological and financial aspects, applying our methodology to the PSA-SECH terminal in the port of Genoa. This research is designed to guide decision-makers in understanding the potential and limitations of this transformation, considering future battery advancements and the entire energy chain for environmental sustainability. Dive into our study for detailed insights. #PortLogistics #Sustainability #FreightTransportation #InvestmentFeasibility #Research

"Always ready" - FarmInsect's hard-working harvester May we introduce: With the installation of Generation 7 of our fattening system, from now on the #SealingSystem robot will take over the strenuous work - harvesting the fattened Hermetia larvae and feeding the rearing boxes to the dosing unit for the fattening substrate. The basic idea behind our system is to automate only those components that are absolutely necessary. After all, any form of automation is associated with development and production costs and is reflected in the profitability calculation of the system. Approximately 20 tons of material are moved during a harvesting day. We are clearly delighted with the active support of our robot. You can see our robot friend in action in the next post. Join our Team! Visit our website or send your informative documents to talents@farminsect.eu. We‘re looking forward to hearing from you! #kreislaufwirtschaft #modernelandwirtschaft #landwirtschaft #insektenproduktion #farminsect #agritech #blacksoldierfly #verticalfarming #insectfarming #insectsasfeed #sustainability

Did you know that something as simple as where a tractor driver looks can have a huge impact on efficiency? 🚜 In a recent case study, Smart Eye collaborated with a farm equipment manufacturer to optimize tractor operations using #eyetracking technology. The results? Let's just say they were eye-opening. 👀 Despite constant vibrations inside the tractor cabin, Smart Eye's three-camera system could precisely measure where the driver focused and how long - revealing the time split between monitoring the plows and looking ahead. This data enabled the client to pinpoint areas for safety, performance and efficiency gains. Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/dZumZEcx #agriculture #tractordriver

How do you unblock a sewage pipe that's so clogged, conventional methods won't work? Up in Scotland, they've found a clever solution: calling in the robots! 🤖 Blocked sewage pipes are a major challenge, especially when they're clogged with hard deposits like concrete. Scottish Water faced just such a problem in South Lanarkshire, where a sewer was blocked with decades-old build-up. Their solution? An ultra-high-pressure robotic cutter, a first-of-its-kind technology in the UK, capable of cutting through the toughest blockages. This robot, one of only three worldwide, uses powerful jets of water to break down the deposits. Not only did this method clean a kilometre-long sewer in three months, but it also did so safely and in an environmentally friendly way. It's a great example of using advanced technology to solve age-old problems efficiently and sustainably. And who knows, we might see more of this technology in action soon! #WastewaterManagement #WaterTreatment #RoboticTechnology #PBJEngineering

Private Network Use Cases for Agriculture 1. Farm Management and Software Integration: Private networks enable farmers to integrate various software applications and management systems, allowing them to streamline their operations, track inventory, manage logistics, and optimize resource allocation. 2. Video Surveillance and Security: Private networks allow farmers to set up video surveillance systems to monitor their farms, livestock, and equipment. This enhances security measures and helps prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. 3. Reduce Labor: Private networks enable the use of automation and remote monitoring technologies, reducing the need for manual labor. This includes automated irrigation systems, robotic machinery, and remote monitoring of livestock health and behavior. 4. Become More Ecologically-Friendly: Private networks enable farmers to implement sustainable farming practices by utilizing sensor-based technologies for precise resource management. This includes optimizing water usage, reducing chemical inputs, and implementing precision agriculture techniques to minimize environmental impact. 5. Employee Communication and Safety: Private networks facilitate seamless communication among farm employees, enabling quick coordination, remote monitoring of worker safety, and emergency response systems.
