🚀 3 reasons why you should consider Barcelona for your next job in tech Having lived in Barcelona for over 7 years, I've come to appreciate its unique offerings in the tech industry. Barcelona might not have extensive tech opportunities (yet) like San Francisco, Berlin or London. But it has a lot more than sunny weather and delicious food. Here are my three reasons for choosing Barcelona over and over again: #1 Integrated I've lived in 10 countries, 13 cities, and none of them felt as integrated as Barcelona. In contrast to cities like Chicago, where distinct neighborhoods often feel like separate worlds, Barcelona has a sense of community where people from diverse backgrounds interact. Whether it's expats mingling with locals or everyone coming together for city-wide events like Carnaval, Barcelona's inclusivity offers opportunities for those in tech to engage with a wide array of individuals. This exposure keeps tech professionals grounded, humble, and more attuned to the broader impact of their initiatives on a diverse community. #2 Compact Despite its cosmopolitan vibe, Barcelona retains a cozy charm that larger cities like Paris, Istanbul, and Cairo often lack. Its small size means less time wasted on commutes, allowing tech professionals to navigate the city efficiently, whether by biking or using public transportation. This accessibility not only enhances work-life balance but also encourages exploration and intellectual stimulation, ultimately enriching tech professionals' creativity and competence. #3 Growing Have you heard of 22@? Situated in Barcelona's Poblenou neighborhood, 22@ is a hub for tech innovation, housing approximately 1,500 companies across various sectors including media, IT, energy, design, and scientific research (source: Barcelona City Hall). The district continues to attract a growing number of companies each year, solidifying Barcelona's status as a thriving hotspot for tech talent. What are your thoughts on Barcelona's tech scene? Where are you currently based, and where do you envision your next career move? ps. Personal note. This picture is from September, 2019. I was already pregnant with my son, Dani, but didn't know it yet 😅 #barcelona #expatslife #techcareers - If you found these insights valuable, consider sharing them with your network. Greetings from Business in Switzerland! 💼✨ This is one of the best parts of an international career: working with many different nationalities and in different countries. It's one of the things why I am so happy to work in Global Marketing. Why I love it? It’s a continuous learning and growing! 🚀 Last week I was working again from Zurich, with the team located there. Here are some insights: 📌Punctuality: Timeliness is highly valued! Meetings start on time, and deadlines are expected to be met. Remember the Swiss watch-maker tradition! 📌 Languages: With four official languages the Swiss are multilingual. German is the widely spoken, especially in a business context. Swiss German is a different beast, though! 📌 Efficiency: The Swiss are known for their efficiency and attention to detail. They prefer detailed, well-prepared business discussions. 📌 Hierarchy: The Swiss business environment is more formal and has well-defined structures – especially when I compare to the Netherlands… ...and last but not least! 📌 Quality of Life: Switzerland is consistently ranked among the top in the world for quality of life! Public transportation, cleanliness and, of course, the stunning natural scenery 📌 Pride: The Swiss are (rightfully!) proud of their country, you see this also when Swiss flags are shown nearly everywhere! ❤️ People: Everyone I work with is very friendly, curious, polite and also, fun! They know how to be professional and after, enjoy life. What was your last meeting with someone from another country? What eye-openers can you share?

[Global meetings that are always exciting, and the global expansion of #DIVEIN ] From Casablanca, the first city for #DIVEINGROUP’s international expansion, this year we’ve been introducing our business across various cities and countries, including #Paris, #DaNang, #Jakarta, and #Singapore. Although the number of cities we’ve visited isn’t large, this time I had the opportunity to meet many professionals from different fields across multiple cities. Entrepreneurs, national gallery representatives, media, curators, and hotel managers from Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Poland, France, and Indonesia all listened attentively to our business story. It’s fascinating and humbling to see how they genuinely receive our vision, even though it’s a business from another country, which might not immediately benefit them. They expressed that DIVEIN’s combination of art and hospitality is a great business model, and they hope to see it expand in various places. (I’m so grateful for these kind words! 🙏) Soon, they were sharing ideas, helping us reflect on better directions, and discussing our ultimate vision for DIVEIN and how we can collaborate without any preconceived notions. These encounters won’t end with short meetings. Whether it takes months or years, we will work to bring these visions to life. Starting in November, we will have an office at #StationF in Paris and aim to create more touchpoints with hotels across Europe. We’re also planning expansions into Vietnam and Singapore, where have been having promising discussions. No one can predict the future, but future looks exciting and full of possibilities. As we prepare for the coming year, we continue to move forward, day by day, step by step!

This message is for those inquiring about #job opportunities in Germany after completing their study programs. "I cannot speak to what your universities and study partners may have told you, but securing a job that aligns perfectly with your skills and experience can be challenging without a basic B2/C1 level of proficiency in the German #language Furthermore, it is important to note that the #unemployment rate in Germany is on the rise at a significant pace. Additionally, living costs are increasing, and finding #budget friendly #accommodation can be chaotic. While opportunities may exist in #startup companies that prioritize #innovation and #skills over language proficiency, this is not always the case with #corporate positions." #germanyjobs #hiring #education #inflation #marketgrowth
