World Renowned Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Kei Hayashi, spent a day at the College presenting at a Dean's Seminar for Excellence on his years of research work on treating and preventing canine cruciate rupture. Dr Hayashi is a passionate clinician, researcher and educator, and most of all a very dedicated veterinarian. He is an outstanding role model for all of us - as a veterinary surgeon, he saw a clinical problem that needed to be resolved and dedicated his research time to address it. A true clinician scientist ! There are so many unanswered problems in veterinary and human medicine. As an extension of the way we consider pets to be members of the family just like humans, we should advocate for a human-level standard of medical care in the veterinary space.
