Have you ever heard about electroculture gardening? The idea, in its simplest terms, is that because the cells of plants - just like our own — have electrical signals, you can increase the plants' growing energy by capturing atmospheric electricity and directing it into the soil. In the 19th century, a number of farmers and gardeners began using electroculture to improve their crop yields. However, electroculture fell out of favor in the early 20th century as chemical fertilizers and pesticides became more widely available. In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in electroculture. In the 1920s, Justin Christofleau invented a system of electroculture which proved so efficient that it increased crops in considerable proportions (up to 200%) without any chemical fertilizer of any kind eliminating the need for fertilizer and pesticides, explaining that "it is not electricity as we know it, but a breath of energy which stimulates and increases the fertility of the soil." One common method of modern Electroculture is the "spiral antenna", a simple copper wire that is planted into the soil. This copper wire acts like an antenna to collect atmospheric energy and direct it down into the soil.
