Emotional regulation is a vital tool for veterans and military members battling PTSD. Learning to manage intense emotions can be life-changing, helping to reduce anxiety, improve relationships, and regain a sense of control. By building these skills, our heroes can find the strength to heal and thrive. Support their journey to wellness by helping the Veterans Equine Therapeutic Services’ programs we offer with a donation. Your donation helps fund our mission so that its members can participate free of charge. SAN ANGELO, TX — Operation Rolling Hope‘s mission is to raise $10,000 to purchase and remodel a decommissioned military bus that will serve as a mobile street outreach hub for homeless individuals, both veterans and civilians across the Concho Valley and beyond. The bus will provide showers, meals, supplies, haircuts, free Wi-Fi, sleeping quarters with bunks, and a kitchenette. The bus itself is priced at $6500 and the remodel costs are estimated at $3500 minimum. Moreover, the bus will also be deployed during natural disasters such as fires, floods, and tornadoes around Texas. All contributions will directly fund the bus purchase and renovations. Every donation counts and we encourage you to share this message to amplify our mission’s reach. This is a worthwhile cause. The amount of good this bus will do for people who are in search of meeting their most basic needs, such as food, water, shelter, and hygiene cannot be measured. So what challenge is Steve tackling head on? Steve is taking on the phenomenal Rat Race - Mongal 100! This is a 100 mile ultra marathon in a remote part of Mongolia, and the route is entirely on the frozen length of lake Khovsghol. Steve will be doing it mostly on ice skates and wilderness camping overnight each night. Though he admits he can’t ice skate....yet! "I’ve chosen this challenge because it genuinely scares me and means I have to confront and overcome my injuries head on. When I left the Army I could barely stand for more than 20 minutes and running was impossible. I’m now planning to run and skate 100 miles in -40 degrees temperatures over four days in the Mongolian wilderness, 200 miles from the nearest hospital, with no crowds or spectators to drive me on......it’s just me against my pain and PTSD." Steve says he has 3 reasons for doing this challenge: 1. To show people that, given support, not sympathy, Veterans can achieve things that on the face of it seem almost impossible. 2. To show other injured Veterans who are struggling that it is possible to overcome life changing injury. 3. To raise enough money to give other wounded Veterans the opportunity to get support and go on to defy the odds themselves. I think you'll agree that this as incredible challenge, and Steve deserves all the support he can get. Mental Health: The Power of Little Moments and Supporting Veterans and Military Through Equine Therapy and Outdoor Programs Mental health is a journey composed of countless little moments that shape our well-being. It’s in the quiet morning coffee, the unexpected laughter with a friend, or the serene walk in nature, and even the bond created with an animal. These small, seemingly insignificant moments can often provide the greatest solace and strength. For many, these moments are the foundation of their mental health. For our veterans and military personnel, who have faced immense challenges and sacrifices, these moments are even more critical. After serving their country, many veterans return home with invisible wounds—mental health struggles that can be just as debilitating as physical injuries. Among the numerous therapeutic options available, equine therapy has emerged as a profoundly effective method to aid in their recovery. Equine therapy, or therapeutic horseback riding, leverages the unique bond between humans and horses to promote emotional healing. The presence of a horse can bring peace, understanding, and a sense of connection that is unparalleled. For them, this form of therapy can significantly improve their mental health, offering them the little moments of joy, calm, and purpose they need to heal and thrive. However, these transformative programs require support to continue their vital work. Donations to our organization are crucial. They ensure that these programs can keep providing the much-needed therapy that helps our veterans rediscover those little moments of peace and happiness. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of those who have given so much for us. By donating, you are not just giving money; you are providing veterans and military in the local community with the opportunity to heal, grow, and find solace in the gentle presence of a horse. You are helping to create those precious little moments that can transform lives. Let’s come together to support our veterans, military, and the programs that help them find the peace and joy they deserve. Every donation counts, and together, we can make a profound impact on the mental health and well-being of our heroes. We cannot do this without you.
