🎄 How to Celebrate New Year Safely: Tips from SEFtec Global Training Instructor New Year’s Eve is a time for joy, but safety should never be overlooked! Follow these simple yet essential tips to ensure your holiday is accident-free: 🔸 Handle Fireworks with Care! Always read the instructions before using fireworks. Launch them away from buildings, cars, and people. Keep a bucket of water or fire extinguisher nearby for emergencies. 🔸 Avoid Overloading Electrical Outlets. Fairy lights and decorations create a festive atmosphere, but plug them into surge-protected extension cords. Never leave lights on unattended overnight. 🔸 Watch Out for Candles. Candles add charm to the holiday table but can pose a fire hazard. Place them away from the tree and flammable materials. 🔸 A Safe Tree is a Happy Tree. If you opt for a live tree, ensure it doesn’t dry out. Dry branches ignite easily. Secure the tree properly to prevent it from falling. 🔸 Monitor the Festivities. Holiday parties often involve alcohol. Remind guests to plan a safe way home — taxis or designated drivers are always the best options. 🔸 Protect Children and Pets. Keep small decorations, candles, and sparklers out of reach. Monitor what children are playing with. 🎉 May your New Year be safe and joyful! Take care of yourself and your loved ones. #SEFtecGlobalTraining #SafetyFirst #NewYearSafety #HolidaySafety #CelebrateResponsibly

I'm technically off work, I've downed tools to celebrate mid-winter. But I couldn't let a whole series of living seasonally posts go incomplete, so I used the magic and wizardry of technology to schedule a post today. It is Winter Solstice today, one of my favourite days in the whole calendar. The Celts knew it as Yule. It was a time to rest, and to celebrate the stillness of deepest and darkest winter. Traditionally we would have gathered together to share food, but also to quietly share stories too, preferably by the fire as we gather together to keep warm. The fire would be symbolic too, our demonstration of trust that the light will now return. Solstice would have been a time for rest and reflection, which is a far cry from what the modern festival of Christmas has become. In winter our energy tends to be on a low ebb, so we are asking a lot of our minds and our bodies when we ask them to fully embrace what the festive season has become for many people. Just recognising this can be a great starting point, if you acknowledge it you can give yourself a bit of compassion for feeling the pressure. And you know, you might actually decide to lighten up on yourself a bit too. If you'd like a prompt for your journal today, give this one a try... What might I need to let go of in order to embrace some rest over the coming week? #wintersolstice #yule #wellbeing #mentalwellness #emotionalwellbeing
