#ImpulseSpace #AndurilIndustries "Anduril Industries is announcing a strategic partnership with Impulse Space, a Redondo Beach-based provider of agile and cost-effective in-space transportation services, to further enable rapid development and delivery of integrated space systems to high-energy orbits for the United States and Allies. The partnership combines Impulse Space’s expertise in highly-maneuverable, high-energy spacecraft with Anduril’s core competencies in mission autonomy, edge processing, infrared imaging, command and control, electromagnetic warfare (EW), and other autonomous technologies. Under the partnership, Impulse will provide its highly-maneuverable Mira vehicle to Anduril, allowing the two companies to move rapidly in pursuit of complex national security missions. Impulse Space will also onboard Mira into Lattice, Anduril’s AI-enabled software platform, to enable autonomous monitoring and mission management. Lattice will allow a single operator to control, task, and maneuver multiple spacecraft simultaneously, accelerating in-space mobility for national security customers and enhancing responsiveness in increasingly contested orbital environments, including geostationary Earth orbit (GEO). As a mission systems integrator, Anduril will integrate its own payloads and other industry partner systems onto Impulse’s Mira spacecraft to support classified mission requirements. Together, Anduril and Impulse will merge best-of-breed technologies from across the commercial and defense industrial base to rapidly deliver integrated, impactful, and operational systems for complex missions including Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO), Space Control, and other Space Domain Awareness (SDA) applications in high-energy orbits. “In-space mobility is incredibly important for a range of national security space missions, including space domain awareness and dynamic space operations,” said Gokul Subramanian, Anduril’s SVP of Space and Engineering. “By combining Impulse Space’s advancements in propulsion and on-demand maneuverability with Anduril’s Lattice software platform and a range of missionized, software-defined payloads, the partnership will bring agility and next-generation capability to some of the most critical missions that the DoD and IC face in the space domain.” ..."

🚀 When we talk about space, it's often filled with excitement, yet we think of it as a niche industry with slow growth. But have you considered how automation and rapid "spacelisation" (a fun term for space industrialization) could change everything? Aerospacelab from Belgium. They are establishing a megafactory capable of producing 500 satellites annually! This is a staggering leap from their current production of 24 satellites per year. Their ambitious growth plan aims to increase their output by approximately 20.8 times. Could Aerospacelab be the Ford of space? Just as owning a car became a norm in the 21th century, could owning a satellite be the new normal in the next 20 years? Curious to see what the future of space holds for us! 🌌 #SpaceIndustry #Innovation #Aerospacelab #SatelliteManufacturing #FutureTech #SpaceExploration

Space Startups Team Up to Revolutionize Orbital Surveillance with Cost-Effective Satellite Retrofits 🚀 Atomos Space and Katalyst Space are teaming up to retrofit geostationary satellites with space domain awareness (SDA) sensors, which could transform how we monitor high-value space assets in GEO orbit. This collaboration comes as demand for space surveillance capabilities grows, with U.S. Space Command and commercial players seeking to enhance intelligence in the critical 22,000-mile orbit. 🔧 Key projects: -Atomos Space's Quark vehicle will deploy Katalyst’s Sight sensor in 2025, followed by a Shield sensor mission in 2026. -These payloads will be installed on aging telecom satellites, extending their life and improving surveillance capabilities at a fraction of the cost of new satellite builds. “Our market analysis shows around $1 billion in SDA-hosted payload opportunities over the next five years,” says Ghonhee Lee, Katalyst’s CEO. With space awareness becoming more critical for national security and satellite operators, retrofitting existing assets is a low-cost, low-risk solution to close intelligence gaps. Is this the future of satellite surveillance? #SpaceTech #SDA #OrbitalSurveillance #SatelliteInnovation #GEO #AtomosSpace #KatalystSpace #SpaceStartups #NationalSecurity

SmartSat CRC is to lead a $2.3 million project to research technologies that will allow spacecraft to repair and service other satellites while in orbit. In particular, the initiative will focus on improving the robotic arms that carry out the repairs and applying AI to aid performance in variable lighting conditions. So-called ‘roadside assistance in space’ is becoming an increasing focus for space companies globally as businesses try to find new ways to increase the often-limited lifespan of satellites. https://bit.ly/42ubNvt

Exploring space tech with The Knowledge Society (TKS) just to give a brief explanation on small satellites. Small satellites are satellites that are more miniaturized and cost-effective but still have the same technology as normal ones. Who knows that your phone has 90% of the same features as satellites(Well I don't).

#EagleEye satellite will launch soon! And of course, with ours - from Scanway Space - SOP200 payload on it. 🔵 A few words on the mission - why it's important. It's the biggest satellite developed and manufactured in Eastern Europe (great job Creotech Instruments S.A.). It has the biggest Earth Observation payload from our company and when it will be launched - later this year with the help of Exolaunch and SpaceX, it will be used to acquire best ever pictures of our country (of course don't count giants like Airbus or Maxar). It will be also baseline for future activities of all the entities that were engaged in the mission. 🔵 How it started? We've started working on the payload capable of going below 2 m GSD from 500 km SSO back in 2019, when we have just finished our first major space activity. Back then, the space industry looked different - not only because of different geopolitical situation, lack of COVID-19 but mainly due to the NewSpace market being in a different place. So we decided to go with very compact design, to do some light-weighting, to use novel optical system and to learn from this project. And we did. 🔵 What next? Now we're in the place where we are starting our submeter GSD EO payload development project together with Marble Imaging to reach the capabilities to send the constellation of VHR satellites within next decade. Also, lots of different business opportunities are arising now. Everybody is now pushing to have better and bigger hardware in space (simply cause we can! it's affordable), so we're on track to meet the requirements of the clients for having the VHR. However, there are different applications in which it would be good to have something around ~1,5 m GSD. Also, not everybody can have a budget in which there's enough money for VHR payload and - let's not forget about this - for very stable satellite platform. Exciting times are coming! P.S. No, we're not forgetting smaller payloads. They also have their place in our business model and will always have.
