Yesterday we announced the launch of our new, sustainable heating system at our Bocholt site — yet another significant step in our journey towards more sustainable production! Using waste heat from our hardening facility to heat our buildings, we've implemented a process that is unique in this setup and scale. Key Highlights: • New heat pump with 622 kilowatt heating capacity as the central component. • Energy-saving process that reuses heat generated during cooling the hardening furnaces • Reduction of natural gas consumption by 2.4 million kWh and 400 tons of CO2 emissions annually The impact is substantial. We now heat most of our halls and buildings in Bocholt using energy from the hardening process rather than conventional gas heating. Our CEO Andreas Evertz emphasizes, "We have a significant responsibility to society and our climate to make our production as sustainable as possible." This innovative system reflects our commitment to industrial transformation and sustainability. Numerous projects have already reduced our resource consumption and carbon footprint.
