A recent suggestion that fuel reduction in our forests should be stopped, expressed in an academic review paper, has been labelled a distraction by one of Australia's leading fire experts. In Episode 4 of our Footy, Forests and Family podcast, we asked Dr Tony Bartlett PhD and Gary Morgan AM AFSM GAICD their views on the importance of fuel management in our forests to prevent wildfire. We also asked if the assertions about leaving the forests unmanaged to let them fend for themselves was a good idea. Unsurprisingly, the answer - based on decades of practical experience and empirical data - is no. https://lnkd.in/gkqnHt5g
