Inspiring Future Innovators: Visit of FIRST LEGO League Euskadi Participants Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Bihotz Gaztea Ikastola Sdad. Coop. to our production facility at Vicinay Sestao. These talented young minds are participating in this year’s FIRST LEGO League Euskadi challenge, "SUBMERGED," which immerses secondary school and high school students in exploring ocean-related issues and inspires them to tackle challenges linked to the marine environment. During their visit, they had the opportunity to engage with our team at Vicinay Marine Innovación, who specialize in R&D, Engineering Services, and Innovation for mooring solutions; the experts at Vicinay Mooring Connectors, leaders in the design and manufacturing of connectors for mooring lines; and the professionals at Vicinay Sestao, renowned for their expertise in designing and producing chains for offshore mooring lines. The students also toured our facilities to witness firsthand the manufacturing process of mooring links, primarily used for offshore oil, gas, and wind energy platforms. We want to express our gratitude to Agencia Vasca de la Innovación | Innobasque, Universidad de Deusto, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, and UPV/EHU for promoting scientific and technological vocations among students—essential for ensuring the continuity and innovation of businesses in our region. Together, we are inspiring the next generation to lead the way in science and technology! 🌊🔗✨ #flleuskadi#FirstLegoLeague #Innovation #STEAMducation #MarineSolutions #FutureTalent

𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐙𝐞𝐧: 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐔𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 DigiSus management board member 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐢 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨 (professor of environmental pedagogy Tampere University) writes in our blog about their research on urban bikeability and the collaborative platform BiciZen they created for the citizens: "How can citizens be inspired and motivated to cycle more? This was the focus of the Cycling Citizen Science research project (2022–2023), where we turned to citizen science and digital technologies to promote cycling in European cities. The project brought together scholars from five European universities: Barcelona in Catalonia, Aveiro in Portugal, Dublin in Ireland, Twente in the Netherlands, and Tampere in Finland. Our main aim was to create a digital tool that cyclists could use to inform and learn from each other about issues related to local cycling. We wanted it to produce opensource data that anyone interested in the phenomenon could use. The final tool, named BiciZen, is a collaborative platform for making cities and regions more bikeable." On December 8, 2024, the Suzuki Plaza hosted a remarkable event that transported us straight into space! Organized by Suzuki Motor Corporation in collaboration with Roland DG Corporation and ALTILAN, the event attracted large crowds and offered exceptional attractions centered around space exploration. 💛 One of the biggest highlights was the personalized sticker zone, powered by the innovative Sticker Builder tool and printed on Roland’s printer. Attendees had the chance to design space-themed stickers as well as unique face-cut stickers, sparking immense interest and creativity. 🚀 🔹 Space-themed designs tied into the event’s theme, inspiring a sense of wonder for outer space. 🔹 Personalization allowed participants to create one-of-a-kind keepsakes, making the design process one of the day’s main attractions. 🔹 The experience perfectly aligned with the event’s goal of promoting innovation, collaboration among local businesses, and interest in space exploration. #StickerBuilder #Stickers #PersonalizedStickers #CustomStickers #DieCutStickers #RolandDG #Altilan #Suzuki #Event #BN2 #VersaSTUDIO

Sharing the latest publication from our research group (with Yutong Cai and Prof Meng Qiang) at NUS Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering in Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering. We developed a novel framework to design a bicycle path network based on the existing sidewalks where selected sidewalk links are converted into eligible bicycle paths with travel time equity consideration (defined as every cyclist in the network will not need to travel excessively longer in time in the designed bicycle path network than in the sidewalk network). Our numerical experiments of a university campus and Clementi town in Singapore have shown our algorithm with varying equity parameter choices can provide tangible inclusive bicycle path network designs and improve as many as 80% equity in certain O-D pairs with critical inequity issues. Hopefully, our model can help in developing future potential in active mobility infrastructure conversion for Singapore and major cities. 😄 Link to article (open access): https://lnkd.in/g3_E7sTF NUS College of Design & Engineering National University of Singapore #cycling #activemobility #infrastructure #traveltime #equity

What a brilliant way to bridge the gap between tech and vessel operations that really helps the valued seafarers the most. As an ex-Chief Engineer, how I wish I had this when I was struggling on board. #PiscesER1 #RealOceanAI #StepIntoTheFuture #WishIHadIT
Do you know how to build a spaceship?🚀 Me neither... Last week, we successfully developed a workflow demonstrating the step-by-step assembly of a LEGO spaceship. Our intention was to showcase how our technology can effectively replace traditional physical documents and reports. Feel free to explore and learn more about the capabilities of our workflow below! We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase at #EMD Svendborg this year, and we eagerly await feedback from interested parties! 🌍 Real Ocean AI a part of Marine Technic

How good to see that the Thinkbike workshop we held in january 2019 in Montreuil in the Paris Region has led to this concrete result today! I remember two lessons were very helpfull for Montreuil from that Thinkbike 1) take the larger perspective. Not on every location the same multimodal solutions are appropriate. Especially in the central area the starting point should be the quality of the public space And 2) make sure in your design that every road user knows what behavior can be expected on a crossing. French crossings tend to be large asphaltplaces With no clear and enforced behavior by design. #goudappel #dce #artgineering

Meet our train station of the future ✨ … today we at DB E.C.O. Group worked again on the Station of the Future - a Sustainable Platform for Digital Multimodal Mobility. We used the method of Lego Serious Play. Some of you might ask, why are they playing Lego during work hours? Actually this scientifically proven method, which was orginally thought by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen (the owner and former CEO of the LEGO Group) and Johan Roos und Bart Victor (International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne) helps us to efficiently share views and create powerful insights with partners and clients. By guiding discussion via prototypes we can express aspects much more precise as only with words. More the communicate soon... 💡 #futureofmobility #prototyping #newmobility #trainstation #mobilityhubs #legoseriousplay
