Every new year is an opportunity to reconstruct our realities, whether at home, in our workplaces, in our communities, in our nations and the world - to some extent -. But that's only possible if we begin with reconstructing ourselves; a profound feature of humans: our ability to redefine who we want to become... Implicitly signifying that we truly are work in progress, and that what we do, really matters. As we farewell 2024, with all its complex and unfathomable effects, let's look at 2025 as an opportunity to use our time intentionally to realise the possibilities of becoming. As the holiday season approaches, Viscera Studio is preparing for our annual break. This year, we’re taking a full month off—a step up from the 2.5 weeks we took last year. 2024 has been a whirlwind, and we expect 2025 to keep the momentum going. That’s why we’re doubling down on prioritizing our team’s well-being, giving everyone time to rest and creatively recharge. At Viscera Studio, we’re proud to take a people-first approach, challenging the norms of traditional business and #hustleculture. For a couple of years now, we’ve embraced a #4dayworkweek, and in 2024, we implemented a self-managed time-off policy (sometimes called unlimited time off). The results? Nothing but positive. These changes have fostered a company culture that inspires creativity, boosts productivity, and aligns with our values. Our word for 2024 has been “cultivate.” Much like tending to a garden, we’ve honed, nurtured, and grown a business that can sustain impactful work without sacrificing our well-being. There are seasons to plant, seasons to grow, and, most importantly, seasons to rest. This break is our season of rest—a necessary pause to ensure we’re ready to tackle what’s next. On the practical side, this means we’re focused on wrapping up our 2024 projects and laying the groundwork for a strong start in 2025.
