Global Mobility has seen its share of changes over the years, and Alan Bentley from IPM Global has witnessed more than many of us. Talking to Karlijn Jacobs of Expat Valley, Alan reflected on some of these changes, while looking to the future of our industry. You can watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/eEVaSyXV Before they spoke, Alan said that, when we talk about change, we tend to dwell on the past, as opposed to looking to the future. Following production of the GLOMO report on Covid-19’s impact on our industry, the RES Forum has turned our attention to what comes next. Not forgetting the many lessons we’ve already learned about living with a global pandemic. “Covid was terrifying at the time,” Alan said. “But we can’t feel sorry for ourselves and say we’ve lost 50% of our revenue.” He went on to explain that, however much the industry might be struggling with slower than anticipated growth, we’ve got to focus on a future where companies will continue to move employees around the world. Albeit in “a different and more cost effective way.” From there the conversation explored the changing nature of assignments, the importance of a people-centric approach and the risk of not putting the family first. They finish by considering how Global Mobility might look in forty years. “We’ll probably have something else that we’re then worried about,” Karlijn assumed. “Migrating to Mars, perhaps.” Whatever the future looks like, the Covid-19 pandemic will one day be a distant memory. ☀️Summer reflections: Time off to recharge and engaging in strategic growth thinking during uncertain times 🧠 This summer, I took the opportunity to recharge and reflect during a wonderful vacation in Oslo, Norway🇳🇴From its culinary delights to breathtaking islands and nature hikes, Oslo offered the perfect backdrop to pause and consider the last six months behind us and the path forward. Reflecting on a world in crisis—whether it’s the war in Europe, the overall ongoing financial and macroeconomic challenges, Or the challenges with the wrongful and failed politics of our current Norwegian government. We need positive change, that’s for sure. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished at AION in the face of adversity. Despite these global challenges, we are still strong, and sometimes we forget that we have gained momentum within many areas the last few months: 🚀 + 180 % revenue achievement in July vs target 👨💻New website launched, driving record traffic and inbound leads from both organic and paid aquisition (still not enough) 🤝 All-time high in deal creation and momentum in Q2 which is ongoing 🎓 Our first-ever webinar with strong brand engagement ✅ Meetings booked before the summer vacation should result in more qualified next steps with many enterprise logos both locally and globally 🚀5 % Increase in sales hit rate 🤸♂️Reduced the ramp up time for new hires from 6 months to 4 weeks by developing a more efficient onboarding program 📊Slowly becoming a more data-driven organization that will help us point in the right direction … Our purpose is clear: to solve the global plastic crisis by making plastic use sustainable through a circular economy ♻️ As we move forward, our GTM strategy will sharpen its focus on understanding our buyer personas, refining our ideal customer profile, and enhancing our commercial initiatives. This summer, I delved into extensive research on AI, seeking ways to integrate it into our growth strategies, making AiON more efficient and effective in our sales and marketing efforts (all commercial growth and revenue channels). Closing my week of mobility🚲 🚅 , fully energized! There was a time where I could not imagine commuting without my car. Then came a time where I tried the participate a day to the mobility week. Time has now come to commute all the week sustainably! Friday is missing in the picture just because I could work remotely 1 day this week. So I really try to walk the talk... and it's possible even with very intensive jobs... in fact, it's often a faster commute than the🚗💨car and it helps relaxing before days start or end... it just takes a bit of anticipated organization and a very supportive company... and yes, ING Belgium makes mobility week a daily reality! We are proud to promote healthy and sustainable modes of transport. 🚈🇪🇺 Since yesterday, the European Mobility Week 2024 has been taking place! 🇪🇺🚈   🚗 European Mobility Week is the European Commission's primary initiative to raise awareness about sustainable urban mobility. 💡🧠🏙 It advocates for shifts in behavior towards embracing active mobility 🚶♀️🚴♂️, utilizing public transportation 🚌, and adopting other clean and intelligent transport options. 🚄💚   🗓 Throughout the week of September 16 to 22, which culminates with the popular Car Free Day 🚫🚗, local authorities are encouraged to test innovative planning measures 💡, advance new infrastructure and technologies 🏗, measure air quality 🌬, and gather public feedback. 🗣🌿   🏙 Every year, more towns and cities join the campaign, which has enormous media appeal 📰 and is widely recognized as a driving force for sustainable urban mobility in Europe and globally 🚗🌿🌍.   🤝 This year’s European Mobility Week’s theme stands for "Shared Public Space"! 👥🚲   🌟 Shared public space offers numerous benefits to society.
