We teamed up with (RED) to discuss the connection between iron deficiency and HIV. Iron is a critical nutrient that helps your blood move oxygen from your lungs to the rest of the body, but iron deficiency anemia, the most common blood disorder for those living with HIV/AIDS, can worsen disease progression and increase mortality risks. Managing iron levels is especially important for people living with HIV due to immune system compromise, increased risk of coinfections, inflammation, and medication effects that can impact iron absorption. #GlobalHealth #IronDeficiency #HIVAwareness #HealthEquity #NutritionMatters

In this study, stigma, fear, and misunderstandings hinder HIV self-testing (HIVST) among undergraduate students in Nairobi, Kenya, but media initiatives and HIV awareness increase testing uptake.
