Part 2: The Chintz Legacy The journey of Chintz is not just a tale of textiles—it's a story of cultural transformation and timeless beauty. 🌍✨ When I think about Chintz, I’m reminded of its incredible journey, which is so much more than the fabric itself. Here’s why Chintz holds such a special place in the world of fashion: 🚫 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: The enchanting beauty of Chintz sparked admiration—and competition. In 1686, France, and later in 1720, England, placed bans on it, as their local mills struggled to capture its brilliance. 🎨 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: By 1759, the spirit of Chintz had transformed European textile arts. European mills, inspired by Chintz’s beauty, overcame the challenges and started producing their own versions, lifting the bans and welcoming its influence into their designs. 🌐 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Chintz's influence extended far beyond its origins. It bridged continents and cultures, reshaping textile arts, industries, and economies across the globe. Chintz’s story is a celebration of craftsmanship, cultural exchange, and the transformative power of beauty. It’s a reminder that even a single piece of fabric can carry with it a history of influence and inspiration. ✨ #ChintzLegacy #GlobalInfluence #TextileCraftsmanship #FashionHistory #CulturalImpact #HistoricTextiles #FashionRevolution #ChintzHeritage

Here's how the Chinese produce quilt from silk 5000 years ago. Traditional silk quilt production by the Chinese highlights both craftsmanship and sustainability. Silk is biodegradable and long-lasting, reducing waste. This craftmanship not only transformed local industries but also influenced global trade and culture, especially through silk, which became an essential commodity. The breathable and lightweight nature of silk made these quilts exceptional, offering warmth without trapping excess heat. "One of Newbie.'s starting points is to always think long-term and timeless and create #garments in #certifiedmaterials that can be inherited, we want to inspire and encourage for the #clothes to be used for a long time. But also to make use of all the material. That's why we started creating collections of remnant fabrics, collections that we call 'Rescued fabrics'," says Anne-Charlotte Lindquist, Assortment Manager at Newbie. https://lnkd.in/gN39Wz3E #reuse #recycling #sustainability #circularity #fabrics #texfash Follow texfash.com on LinkedIn: https://lnkd.in/dWNRX6vM

We firmly believe that fabric is the very heartbeat of our industry. It's not merely about threads woven together but the narratives, emotions, and artistry imbued within each strand. In our 32 years old journey, we've come to realize that the fabric we choose is not just a material; it's a canvas for creativity, a conduit for expression, and a testament to our commitment toquality. Whether it's the luxurious feel of silk, the rustic charm of linen, or the versatility of cotton, each fabric tells a unique story and creates an unforgettable experience for both the creator and the wearer. In a world inundated with fast fashion and fleeting trends, it's imperative to recognize the enduring value of fabric. It's the cornerstone of sustainability, enabling us to craft pieces that transcend seasons and stand the test of time. Moreover, it fosters a deeper connection with our roots, celebrating traditional craftsmanship while embracing innovation. At Condra, we're not just in the business of fashion; we're weaving dreams, one fabric at a time. Join us in our pursuit of excellence, where every stitch and seam is a testament to our appreciation for the art of fabric. #SustainableFashion #Craftsmanship #Condra #FashionForward

Competitors cannot duplicate your business style or Culture. They may copy your collections. HOW? When it comes to developing a new product in home textiles, Manufacturers have to ; 1. 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆; Our culture isn't just about producing exceptional home textiles; it's about fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and dedication to quality for each Client. It's about embracing our Turkish heritage while constantly evolving to meet the demands of European brands. 2. 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 ( 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 ) While competitors may strive to imitate our collections, they'll always miss the mark when it comes to replicating our culture. Our culture isn't something that can be copied or reverse-engineered – it's woven into the fabric of who we are as a company. 4. JPN KIMONO & CZECH FABRICS ?! 🇯🇵&🇨🇿 Have you ever heard of Czech fashion? Czechoslovakian fabrics? 👉 Textilana, Mosilana, Veba, Seba, Hedva and many others…? In the year 1990, we had about 200,000 people employed in the Czech textile industry in 98 by then state-owned enterprises. Fabric production (in millions of m2): cotton 485, wool 50, flax 90, silk 70! Thirty years later the industry is dead! ☠️ And the ones who survived had to completely rebuy their own properties, machines and equipment! In most of the cases if they still exist, they are now doing the B2B biz. or exporting most of their production abroad. WHY? The reply is sad >> because there is simply no demand for quality from the local market…! Yeaaah…the prices! 🤑 Majority of Czechs are not willing to pay for it or they can simply not afford it! Following the legacy of "kimono-ya "着物屋", we try to spread the craft knowledge to meet the modern world. In 2022 we have created #PURPLYWORKSHOP as an instant reaction to our own needs and lack of practical information and low quality clothing and fabric in the fashion stores. Little by little the workshop has been organized 20 times in five cities: Prague ~ Brno ~ Tábor ~ Bratislava and in Spain in a town called Peter. So far, more than 160 participants have taken part in it, including over 20 small entrepreneurs and brands from the world of fashion and we are now in preparation for further corporations and events. So the good news is, there are still people interested in learning where to buy natural fabrics, where to shop for the Czech fashion and how to navigate in the mess of the fashion jungle >> https://lnkd.in/dxaHd-fV

🌟 Insightful Conversation with a Weaver 🌟I had an eye-opening discussion with a local weaver who shared his family's journey of working together, creating beautiful fabrics without the need to look for jobs outside. It's a powerful reminder that self-sustained work can be fulfilling and meaningful. He also emphasized the importance of sticking to natural fabrics. Polyester might be convenient, but it can be harmful to your body. Supporting traditional craftsmanship and choosing natural fabrics is not just a lifestyle choice—it's about taking care of ourselves and the environment.🧵 Let's appreciate the art of weaving and make conscious choices in what we wear.#SupportLocalArtisans #SustainableFashion #NaturalFabrics #SayNoToPolyester
