Understanding Different Types of Pumps and Their Applications Pumps are devices used to move fluids by mechanical action. There are various types of pumps, each suited for specific applications. Diaphragm pumps use a flexible diaphragm, creating a pulsating flow, ideal for chemical transfer and wastewater treatment. Axial piston pumps have pistons arranged axially. They offer high pressure and efficiency, suitable for hydraulic systems. Centrifugal pumps use rotational energy to move fluids. Common in water supply and industrial processes, they are efficient and handle large volumes. Gear pumps use meshing gears to pump fluid. They are reliable and used in oil and chemical industries. Peristaltic pumps use rollers to compress a hose, moving the fluid inside. They are great for handling abrasive and viscous fluids in the medical and food industries. Gerotor pumps use an inner and outer rotor. They are compact and provide smooth flow, ideal for lubrication systems and hydraulic applications. video rights : Respective owners DM for removal /credits #pumps #chemicalengineering #piping #chemicalengineer #civilengineering #engenharia
