I smell Christmas! Do you? This Christmas can be almost as much fun as previous ones, in spite of the economy. Yes! But how? Here are a few tips: 1. Plan ahead - make a budget, create a list, and check out spots to visit. 2. Buy Christmas stuff now - rice, oil, Christmas tree and decor, etc. 3. Look out for sales, including Black Friday sales and trade fairs (the Lagos Trade Fair is ongoing). 4. Cut out non essentials. 5. Search for free or low-cost holiday events like concerts, plays, etc. Then register early. 6. Organize your year-end gatherings with family and friends, potluck style - ask everyone to bring something, no matter how small. At my home, we've started already. You should, too. Happy holidays in advance! Kuro John Ngoboh
