Additionally, you will work with our end-users in the West region to further understand our target group – in close collaboration with the team in New York. Now is not the time to start giving your reps a hard time because their call rate is falling and business isn't as good as your expectations. These last couple of months have not been easy, and every agent I have spoken to over the last couple of weeks have all agreed that it has been one of their most difficult times to try and get meetings with customers. People are not answering phone calls, not responding to messages and emails, and some of those you manage to speak to are either declining until later in the year or no visits required at all! The meetings being arranged are problematic because you are unable to fill your day with a full quota, diminishing the quality of the working day and becomes more expensive per visit ratio. And some of those being visited are just not spending due to budget restraints. However, on the flip side, I am personally finding success with new opportunities and those that are buying are spending meaningful amounts, and my perseverance is opening up those new opportunities. We have all been here before, some of us many times, and we always find a way to work through and come out the other side. So a message to principles, if you choose to employ reps, accept these bumps in the road and help your field staff, and if you are using agents, we are doing our best under the circumstances. To Cater to Larger Wall Openings, You May Opt to Increase the Number of Door Panels for Multi-Slide Doors For larger openings, you can choose to increase the number of door panels. A three-panel or four-panel multi-slide door system, for example, has two or three moving panels that slide in separate tracks so multiple panels can stack in front of the stationary panel, creating an opening that is two-thirds or three-fourths the width of the overall opening. By adding even more multi-slide panels and tracks, you can span door openings approaching 50 feet in width. Depending on the model, you can put in up to five or six sets of tracks. Keep in mind, there are also pocketing doors in the multi-slide category. They’re less common, but may be right for your home, as the panels conceal in a wall pocket to open the space up even more than the stacked variety. Another type of multi-slide door system features doors that slide out from the center in both directions. In a common four-panel system, for example, the two middle panels slide to the side to stack in front of the end panels, resulting in a passageway that is one-half the full width of the door opening. Does your commercial furniture business need a big window to showcase your products? We are still finding most clients wanting a great display window, especially those who are opening their first Clerkenwell showroom. For those with an established business in the area, some are finding that the greater value for money offered by an upper floor, for example, suits their business better. Given my previous work experiences, I'd simply say that if you are going for an upper floor, you'll need to make sure that you have a good CRM system in place and understand that the 'in-showroom' team member role may be rather different from that in the standard showroom. When a client asks me to paint the walls, I might suggest tearing down the roof if I see it leaking. I recently heard this metaphor, and it closely aligns with my approach when working with clients who want to sell a flat in Prague. I know how to make it happen quickly and at a high price. That’s exactly why clients pay me a commission. I have a clear system that leads to the desired result, and all you need to do is follow it. One day, the owner of a two-room flat in Prague 9 approached me for help selling his property. It was a small, 40m² flat without a balcony. When I came to assess it, the first thing that caught my eye was the living room furniture: dark, disproportionate to the room’s size, and very outdated. The owner no longer lived there, and he didn’t need the furniture. However, when I suggested removing it so that potential buyers could visualize the space and imagine their own furniture, he firmly refused. He didn’t take my arguments that this would help sell the flat at a higher price into account. I refused to sell the flat as it was. Some may find this approach odd, but I can’t work just for the sake of it. It’s crucial for me to deliver the best possible outcome for my client.
