For some folks, PSL’s are a right of passage into the Autumnal season. But even if you don’t love this gourd based drink, there are plenty of other beverages that can inspire your fall fashion this week, and you can still use our style tips for each! Just change the color palette theme to that color scheme! For example, if you prefer a chai tea, cream and browns are still applicable but probably less oranges in your look. Or if you love warmed apple cider, switch out the orange for a touch of red instead and maybe some nutmeg or cinnamon browns sprinkled through your look…anyone else getting thirsty or is just me?! If you’re looking to love your pumpkin inspired outfit a “latte” this week (sorry, I had to!), here are some tips to help you out! 🎃 Lean into the color palette of your favored drink! Most PSL’s I’ve had the pleasure of drinking boast colors ranging from brown to tan, cream to white (especially if there is a lot whip cream!), and usually a little bit of orange. Sometimes there is even a touch of green in the design or on the packaging if they’re really embracing the pumpkin theme! Choose the color combo with just the right amount of spice for you (and your style)! 🧣Emphasize the “coziness” of a fall favorite with knitwear! Knitwear doesn’t have to just be a sweater though! How many sheets do you need? I didn’t count the sheets; all I know is that there were three very large boxes of sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers in my father-in-laws house, and my Mum had four very large draws and an airing cupboard full of linen. Sheets and duvets for single, double and king size beds, flat sheets, fitted sheets, different patterns and colours from different eras -  with matching pilowcases. All perfectly useable.  At this point I’m not singling anyone out. I can see that this is a human problem. Hands up I’m guilty too. I get it. We paint our walls a different colour, fashions change, we want to feel fresh and new, we buy new bed sets. The old bed set looks tired and dated, it’s moved down the list to second best, third best … Stuff, it makes me feel overwhelmed and sad. Confronted with a lifetime's accumulation of stuff, everyday things, items once deemed necessary and bought with hard-earned money, useless, unwanted. It feels like a slap in the face.  It’s so hard to let go - after all we worked hard for it, it has good memories, we might need it again. It's even harder to find the people who actually want and need it.  Especially when there is so much of it. Image of beautiful beaches covered in human detritus flashes through my head. Consumerism, fed by a need to feel better and  driven by the  relentless drive for economic growth. Our World can’t take this any more and it has to stop. In every sense it's a poor legacy for our children, never mind our planet. What are we going to do with it all? Don’t kid yourself that someday your children will want it. They won’t, their homes will be full of their own lifetimes accumulation of stuff.  This is not what I want, so what can I do? Could I practice mindful shopping, can you? What are the questions you ask yourself before buying anything new? Rant over and I now start my search for a ‘new for me’ jacket for a wedding on Vinted - but just what is it replacing and why do I need it? Really? #rubbish #planet #pollution
