When it comes to constructing a bridge, safety protocols are absolutely crucial. I mean, we’re talking about building this ginormous structure that’s going to carry tons of weight and potentially hundreds of people across it every day. That’s no small feat! So, first things first – the construction crew needs to have some serious training in HSE procedures & close coordination with the HSE Team. They have to know how to properly use all their gear and equipment and follow the necessary precautions. Then you got stuff like safeguarding heights and edges because nobody wants a worker falling off at height. This always go with consistent awareness trainings, safety campaigns, communication of approved MSRA, TBT's, upimplementation of Permit to work system and close supervision. Inspections and Joint HSE Walk down at different stages of construction are super important to catch any potential defects or hazards before they become major issues. In this effect, bridges ain’t no joke when it comes to safety, so it’s essential for everyone involved to be extra cautious and follow proper guidelines throughout the entire construction process!!. 150 MIGD UAQ INDEPENDENT WATER PROJECT Infrastructure Phase 3 (Access Road Bridge including MSE Wall, piles, pier, abutment, Post tension slab, asphalt roads, traffic signal, street lighting, exit and entry of the water plant) Pillixy Contracting LLC CGGC Intl. As the first week of Construction Industry Federation (CIF), Construction Safety Campaign comes to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on the critical risks we’ve covered and the actions we can all take to make our worksites safer ⚠️Working at Heights We started the week by examining the dangers of working at height, one of the leading causes of fatalities on construction sites. Even small oversights, like an unsecured ladder, can lead to serious injuries. This topic reminded us of the importance of reassessing our ladder and scaffold use regularly, and where possible, looking for safer alternatives ⚠️Electrical Safety Midweek, we turned our attention to the hidden but deadly risks of electricity. With over 1,000 injuries each year from electrical incidents on construction sites, this is a risk we can’t afford to ignore. Regular inspections of equipment, wearing the right PPE, and instilling a culture of electrical safety on-site are non-negotiable measures to help prevent these injuries ⚠️Mobile Plant & Equipment We ended the week by addressing one of the most common on-site hazards: interactions between people and heavy machinery. These incidents often result in severe injuries, so we highlighted the importance of Plant Safe Zones, clear exclusion markers, and robust Safe Systems of Work. Properly separating people from moving equipment and ensuring thorough communication can help eliminate the risks ➡️If you have an upcoming projects and need support managing critical risks, DM me today and lets have a chat #CIFSafety24 #Criticalrisks #Construction #HealthAndSafety #WorkAtHeights #ElectricalSafety #MentalHealth #HeartHealth
