CEO Willard Ashburn grew tired of plain, uninteresting Bloody Mary mixes, so he brought his Chesapeake Bay roots and seafood heritage to this mix with fresh crab meat, lobster, shrimp, and 100 percent ocean clam juice. The Magic of a Photo That Feels Touchable There’s something extraordinary about a food photo that makes you pause—not just to look, but to feel. A truly captivating image can transport you into the scene, making you believe you can reach out and pick up that perfectly shucked oyster, feel the coolness of the shell in your hand, and taste the briny kiss of the sea. The power of such an image lies in its ability to awaken our senses. When you see oysters on the half shell glistening with a hint of sea spray, nestled in crushed ice with wedges of lemon shining in the light, your mind fills in the gaps. You imagine the snap of the shell, the silky texture of the oyster, the sharp tang of citrus. It’s visceral, immediate, and deeply evocative. Photos that evoke this response don’t happen by chance—they’re crafted with care. The textures, the play of light and shadow, the tiny details like the glimmer of melted ice or the curve of a shell, all work together to bridge the gap between viewer and food. These images do more than show us what’s on the plate; they invite us to connect, to savor, to crave. They make us remember that food is not just nourishment—it’s an experience. #foodphotography #oysterlover #foodstyling #seafoodphotography #oystersonhalfshell #foodtextures #styledfoodphoto #visualcravings #seafoodplatter #craveablefood #rusticfoodphotography #foodandemotion #edibleart #brinygoodness #fooddetails #glisteningoysters #oysterphotography #freshseafood #foodflatlay #styledseafood #dallasfoodphptography #dallasfoodphotographer #DallasRestaurants #dallaschefs #dallasphotography #dallasphotographer

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. Miles Kington So yesterday I talked through building a set for a burger in a live demo on zoom. From the burger, I also went on to photograph a 2nd set where you lovely people joined me and asked me questions along the way whilst I was building it. So the 2nd set was this fruit salad shot built on a set with natural light. We purposely built it on a bright and light set after yesterdays dark burger shot. And I talked through… 🍓 Where to start with the set. 🍓 How to build the set around 3 fruit salad bowls 🍓 Choosing the colours that complemented the fruit 🍓 Enhancing the mood of the fruit salad 🍓 Decided what to put the fruit salad in 🍓 What to add to tell the story 🍓 How the compositional rules helped 🍓 Styling this set to ensure the fruit stood out 🍓 Then we added a drink, extra fruit, cream and flowers Eventually after quite a few jiggles of the fruit salad bowls – they were tricky with the viewers watching, this was the shot. To finish it off in editing by cropping it, cooling it down a bit and adding saturation to the fruit and added a little extra background in at the front of the image That’s it – it’s only as complicated as we make it. This was a paid-for 90 minute masterclass and if you feel you missed out – you can still purchase it, just drop me a message for details. Photography has been an outlet and inspiration over the years creating in me a deeper level of inspiration for Winemaking, brand creation, and strategic business planning Growing up on the lots of Hollywood studios, everything I viewed on a ‘set’ was “framed”. Everything ‘inside’ the frame was perfect....and what was ‘outside’ the frame was, well, sometimes very chaotic. It’s like the analogies of chefs fighting in the kitchen but the presentation coming out onto the dining floor as “beautiful”! As an instructor for life, the world around us is and will always be chaotic & uncontrollable (from an individual perspective). But it is clear that individuals can and do have significant impacts on the level of chaos as noted with so many historic figures who have changed the world. In the fast changing world of wine & alcohol beverages, professionals who smooth out the chaos in their small circles of influence are the true change makers and champions of civil governance. Outside of the serenity of this photograph, there are a myriad of situations that scream for an individual to tame the chaos and bring stability to their situations. One person at a time, one action of smoothing out the rough edges of a situation, one determined mind to resist friction, and the result is that we now have one more influencer in constructing good around us vs. chiming in with the noise of destructive thought or philosophy. We are one of three different kinds of influencers: We are either (as a central element of our personalities): 1. builders/contributors 2. Users/consumers 3. Destroyers/antagonists We get to choose which one of these we are. . . My name is Nicholas Mark Karavidas and I am a winemaker.🍷. . .Photo: California Sunrise, Lodi Lake on the Mokelumne River of Northern California. 📸 Canon 5DIII 15 Seconds F13 ISO 200 Zeiss 45mm adapted to Canon . . ..#aboutthe🍷#winemakerslife #wineandspirits #techtalk4wine #photography #branddevelopment

Apparently, today is Cheese Pizza Day in the USA. Who knew? So, how about a tasty goat’s cheese and rocket pizza, freshly cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven, and finished off with some balsamic dressing? I never cease to be amazed at how many days of the year are devoted to the celebration of something or other. Just taking food, nearly every day in September is devoted to the celebration of something, and some days have three or four things to celebrate! And it’s not just food. In fact, whatever your business, there will be numerous days of the year you can tie your business to in order to help promote what you offer, and not just the obvious ones like Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and so on. So, what does that mean for you? It means you need to be prepared, and plan well in advance if you want to take advantage of these endless opportunities. It also means you need a good photographer who can help you capture the images you need to do this. I can help you with this. If you are interested in talking to someone about your professional photography needs, give me a call at 07897201304 or drop me a line at Michael.gibson@mgcreativepix.co.uk and I’d be happy to talk to you about how I can help to get you noticed.
