Microsoft’s $1.5 billion investment in G42 marks a pivotal step towards driving economic growth in our region. Together, we will expand the UAE’s digital economy and pioneer Cloud and AI technologies in new markets.    The focus of this venture is to expand in key countries where there is a tremendous need for investment in digital infrastructure, including in the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. Microsoft and G42 have also entered into an Intergovernmental Assurance Agreement (IGAA), a first-of-its-kind agreement that ensures our partnership operates in a secure, trusted, and responsible manner, especially with regards to the development and deployment of AI technologies. As part of this expanded partnership, Microsoft Vice Chair & President Brad Smith will take a seat on the G42 Board of Directors, and both companies will support the development of a skilled and diverse AI workforce and talent pool with a $1 billion fund for developers.    This expansion of our longstanding collaboration with G42 underscores our commitment to responsible innovation and fostering growth.
