🎤 Quality audio can make or break a podcast. No matter how great your content is, poor audio can lose listeners. I've listened to some that still have the dogs barking, a kiddo interrupting, or email notifications dinging because they were using their computer's ambient microphone. Sometimes that helps add authenticity! But most of the time .... it's just a distraction to the true story. 🎧 Your digital audio workstation (DAW) can really help, even if you're working with a free one like Audacity or GarageBand. Cutting out those distractions will help listeners focus on the story but only IF the timing allows for it. Higher-end DAWs like Adobe Audition can actually take out the noise frequency of some distractions, too. What DAW do you use? I've used all three mentioned in this post. I'd love to talk shop! #PodcastQuality #PodcastManagement #DetailsMatter

💬 Feedback from my first issue of the revamped Spells for Systems newsletter: 1) Where are the emojis? 2) Make the video summaries even shorter 3) Maybe add a one-line summary for other content (blog posts, podcasts) All things I plan to take on for next week's edition. 🤓 Want to read it? ➡ You can access all issues, without subscribing (Link on my profile, or type what you see)

Want to grab your audience’s attention? Stop overloading your ads with too many words. Audio ads work best when sound leads the way. You don’t need to cram in tons of copy — that’s what your website is for. Give your audience enough to want to find out more. And if you’re advertising on podcasts (where it’s mostly speech), flip the script. Use sound to break up the dialogue of a podcast, use soundscapes and sound fx and ignite emotions and imagination. Become a better podcaster - tip #002 Failure to prepare is preparing to fail. It’s like taking a road trip without knowing the destination. Planning podcasts are like road trips. Here’s 5 steps to prepare for your first or next recording. 1. Who’s in the car? Imagine you’re talking to the person in the passenger seat. Just you and them. Who are they and what do they need help with? 2. Know the outcome. Strong content solves one key problem. What is the point you’re trying to get across. Be specific. 3. Pave the road. What are the key steps or milestones you need to cover to get them to their destination. 4. Be the example. What part of your own story can you bring into the content to make it unique to you. Speak from experience. 5. Where are you eating? Once you're at the destination (solved the problem), theres always a next step (like finding a restaurant after a day in the car). This is your call to action so that you can continue to help. Make this clear and easy to follow.

If you want to make sure your podcast is polished and ready for your audience, here’s a quick editing checklist I use for every episode: 1️⃣ Upload video and audio files 2️⃣ Sync all clips together 3️⃣ Export video and audio 4️⃣ Timestamp for clips to use for short-form content 5️⃣ Edit short-form clips with captions 6️⃣ Export all pieces of content Following these steps ensures your podcast looks and sounds professional, and that you have content ready for both long-form and short-form platforms. Don’t have time to go through all this? I can handle it for you, saving you time and making sure everything is done right. Let’s connect! 🎧🚀

I had an amazing experience experimenting with NotebookLM to create a custom audio summary for my newsletter! The results? Pure magic 🤯. (P.S. Yes, I only shared the link to my Substack page!) What's even more exciting is how custom instructions added a new layer of personality to the conversation, almost like having podcast hosts dive deeper into the topics on The Deep Dive podcast. It felt dynamic and truly engaging! I can already see this being a gamechanger for consuming long-form content in audio format. Imagine turning dense articles or reports into easily digestible, bite-sized audio summaries! 🚀 Also, if you haven't yet subscribed to my newsletter, now's the perfect time!
