Huawei and Vodafone Egypt Unveil World's First 25 Gbps E-Band Microwave Transmission Link Huawei Egypt and Vodafone Egypt have announced the deployment of a 25 Gbps E-band microwave transmission link, touted as the first of its kind to be commercially used on a global scale. Operating within the E-band spectrum at 80 GHz, this advanced technology allows for high-speed data transmission at 25 Gbps over significant distances. The new microwave link is designed to enhance network performance and support future demands for 5G services, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). It comes shortly after Egypt's government finalized agreements with mobile operators, including Vodafone Egypt, to enhance communication quality and expand 5G network capacity through advanced technologies like the microwave link. The goal of this collaboration is to strengthen Egypt’s telecommunications infrastructure while aligning with the Egyptian government’s efforts to improve 5G service delivery. This development is part of a broader strategic shift towards positioning Egypt as a regional hub for high-speed connectivity and digital services. It follows Huawei Cloud’s launch of its first public cloud platform in Egypt in May 2024. The cloud platform connects over 60 countries via 14 submarine cable systems, with plans to expand to 18 systems by 2025, boosting Egypt’s cloud computing capacity. #HuaweiEgypt #VodafoneEgypt #25GbpsMicrowave #5GNetwork #CloudComputing #IoT #Telecommunications #EgyptInnovation #DigitalTransformation #AI
