Porto and the North of Portugal at Ferien-Messe Wien 🇦🇹 From January 16 to 19, Visit Porto and North of Portugal showcased their unique experiences at Ferien-Messe Wien, Austria's largest travel fair. For four days, the 2025 fair welcomed over 71,000 visitors with endless inspiration, breathtaking experiences, and outstanding entertainment. Represented by Beatriz Sousa, Sales & Hospitality Specialist, our presence highlighted the region through diverse experiences such as Douro River cruises—particularly popular with senior travelers—coastal adventures, and scenic road trips, which are frequently inquired about by couples and young families planning their first trip to Portugal. ⬆️ Key trends: Travelers showed a strong interest in the best seasons to visit—especially March to May and July to September—and many are planning 1–2-week trips that combine a visit to Porto with scenic road journeys through the region. 📈 Between January and November 2024, the number of Austrian visitors to Northern Portugal increased by 6% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching a total of 73.6K tourists. This steady growth suggests further potential for expansion in the coming years.
