United Kingdom 🤝 Visit Pensacola Visit Pensacola, in partnership with VISIT FLORIDA, brought the Florida sunshine to the UK last week at World Travel Market (WTM) London! Darien, Nicole, and Kaya, along with Visit Pensacola's UK PR and trade rep, Becky, were able to meet with dozens of trade, media, content creators, and travel agents, showing off all the amazing things Pensacola has to offer. The highlight was an immersive installation that showed off the beauty of the Pensacola Bay Area (and of course, the Blue Angels.) WTM brings together the international leisure travel community; providing inspiration, education, sourcing, and benchmarking to travel professionals while providing exhibitors a place to do business and showcase their services to the international press. The UK continues to be a growing international market for Pensacola, and the team was ready to showcase our little slice of paradise.

New Study Points to Continued Growth in MICE Market As reported in WhaTech by Oliver Guridham, new research from The Business Research Company finds that the MICE market is expected to grow to $1,336.52 billion in 2028 at a compound annual growth rate of 8.6%. The anticipated growth is “attributed to increasing inter-connectedness of businesses globally, increasing expansion and developments of various businesses, growing popularity of virtual meetings among businesses, economic development and tourism promotion, the increase in business trips worldwide.” Interesting to note that Pulse Experiential Travel is a dominant provider of individual travel experiences to this enormous market. #MICE #meetings #incentives #experiences #incentivetravel https://lnkd.in/e6afgM3W

Sharing a [free] strategic team exercise for 2025 planning. On World Tourism Day, September 27th, we launched 100 travel innovations to create a hub for 100 proven solutions and best practices from 100 destinations. Thank you to all the DMOs who sponsored the story. The positive feedback and impact of this tourism as a force for good campaign are reassuring that we are on the right track. We spend too much time worrying about our competitive set, but the simple truth is that no one manages a destination perfectly. So, this is a mosaic of 100 best practices that any destination can implement to enhance the visitor experience, resiliency, preserving culture, prosperity, equality, and the overall quality of life of the community. The exercise is to divide the 100 innovations amongst your staff or departments. Have them review 5-10 apiece. Each team member picks 1 innovation that resonates with them to present to the group for funding consideration in 2025. The great thing about the 100 innovations is that they are implemented, proven, successful, and make an impact. This will help mitigate risk and increase buy-in for approval. Note: this is NOT a 100-ranked list (there is no #1; let's hope we can let go of that concept in 2025), just destinations coming together to share their proven solutions for others to learn from. :) I hope this helps. Have a great day, and please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Ben. :) ben@destinationthink.com Links: Travel Beyond trailer video - https://lnkd.in/gJ5fJRQZ 100 Travel Innovations - https://lnkd.in/gmuFueiP Convening a select group of change makers (see: Doers, not just talkers) - https://lnkd.in/gcmeG93B

"Offering Creativity for Sale! Exciting developments in tourism and hospitality—I assist clients with booking tools, enhancing their profiles and products. While success on the competition platform can be a matter of chance, I work to create fair opportunities. A recent client successfully booked on Trip Advisor within a month of listing their product. While not magical, receiving positive feedback like 'I am starting to believe' is truly gratifying. Perhaps I should dabble in some magic here and there! #TourismTech #BookingSuccess #TripAdvisorWin #NewJourneys"

This week will see a number of leaders and innovators from the global corporate travel industry gather in London for the annual BTN Group Business Travel Show Europe - and while I sadly am unable to attend in person this year I wish a fantastic show for everyone attending with lots of business and networking value being generated Interesting - today marks the 3 year anniversary since I joined the Spotnana rocket ship on 18th June 2021 - and this milestone made me reflect a little on what has happened since Spotnana came out of stealth mode at the BTS conference in September 2021 - back then in the "coming out of Covid world" we were immediately asked what we meant with our #cloudnative #travelasaservice platform given that this was a new term for the industry - and it was hard to explain in an "easy to understand way" Fast forward to today, and there is a long list of hard evidence projects demonstrating the #travelasaservice potential - driven by customers across all segments of the industry and with more to come during the remainder of 2024 - so in many ways we are now able to give examples of what we meant back then 😀 While Spotnana will be absent from the 2024 BTS event, we will actually be represented in the form of a number of TMC's, Expense Solutions, Travel Tech Solutions, Travel Suppliers and Buyers who all use our platform in different ways - and this is the perfect illustration of how the vision has become reality by letting others build smart solutions on top of the Spotnana platform Back in 2021 I also talked about saying "goodbye to the PNR" for the first time - and while we certainly still use the PNR when booking in the GDS, we have indeed stopped using the PNR as the default order management system and replaced this legacy system with a modern open order management system designed to handle complex multi-source trips with instant data validation and easy integration to other relevant systems Finally, we have launched several features aimed at solving the sustainable travel challenge, but as stated by Elizabeth West yesterday in her excellent article about the state of sustainable travel we are still waiting for customers to start making tough decisions in their travel policy about how to enforce greener travel and reduce the carbon footprint whenever possible A final observation before BTS 2024 kicks off has to be how much focus there will be on International Air Transport Association (IATA)'s latest initiative - "Offers and Orders" - in the breakout sessions. If you think NDC was a challenge then get ready for more disruption at a faster pace - a number of airlines have committed to moving away from the PNR and replace the legacy order system with a new modern airline retailing infrastructure and this will no doubt create significant challenges once again for the TMC's who are operating in the old tech world Have a fantastic BTS show - enjoy London - and you can always meet a Thorsen at the FCM booth Glenn Thorsen

Happy Monday, friends! 💼 As a travel expert, one of my most exciting goals is to immerse myself in the world of MICE tourism—Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions. Though I haven’t had the chance to fully experience it yet, I’m captivated by how MICE blends business with travel in such an inspiring and meaningful way. What excites me most about MICE tourism is the chance to create impactful, memorable experiences that bring people together from all over the world. It’s not just about organizing events; it’s about fostering connections, sparking collaboration, and using travel as a tool to inspire growth and innovation. From incentive trips that reward hard work to conferences that spark new ideas, the potential for impact is limitless. If you’re already working in the MICE space, I’d love to hear about your experience. How did you break into this space, and what has been your journey so far? #MICEtourism #BusinessTravel #TravelGoals #DreamTour #TravelExpert #LetsConnect
