For me college felt like the pinnacle of creativity and connection—a time when ideas sparked collaboration, and inspiration was everywhere. My photojournalism department was unparalleled in terms of creative environments that encouraged me. How I've been reframing that idea. Two years ago I realized how I needed more community, more humans with similiar heart beats. Being a dad, a husband and tbh most especially a business owner - I had sold my time to everything else. Then about a year ago I got intentional. And now it's starting to grow. And snowball-this hang was a blast!!! We had to cap it off! Thankful for all who showed up. Because let’s be real: college isn’t supposed to be the peak. -Creativity doesn’t expire when the diploma is handed out. -Connection isn’t confined to campuses or classrooms. -Community isn’t handed to us—it’s something we build. Recently, I’ve experienced spaces where creativity feels alive again—groups where collaboration flows without ego, and connection is built on shared passion, not shared institutions. College Isn’t the Pinnacle of Creative Community. Period. "Community will be created the moment we decide to act as creators of what it can become." -The Alchemy of Belonging. The truth? Our best creative communities are yet to be made. The key is showing up with intention, finding the right people, and building what doesn’t yet exist. Excited to stop looking backward and shift forward to start creating the communities we’ve always dreamed of. Rewriting my story. Together. Happy Monday friends.
