🔍 **Myth Buster Monday: Chronic Wound Care Edition** 🔍 One of the most persistent myths surrounding chronic wound care is that "wounds need to be kept dry to heal properly." 🛑 Let's debunk this misconception: 🏥 **The Reality:** Wounds need a moist environment to heal more effectively. Numerous studies have shown that a moist wound environment supports cell growth and migration, leading to faster and better healing outcomes. Keeping a wound dry can actually cause tissue to desiccate and create a barrier to healing. ✨ **Business Implication:** For healthcare providers and medical device companies, educating both the clinical community and patients about effective wound care strategies is essential. Embracing advanced wound care technologies that maintain moisture can enhance patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs related to prolonged wound treatment. #WoundCare #Healthcare #MythBusters #MedicalEducation #PatientCare #WoundHealing #HealthcareBusiness 💬 Feel free to share your experiences or thoughts in the comments! - Dr. Alvin May, MD Wound Care Educator 🍃

#FeatureArticleFriday - "CMS is proposing a new mandatory Medicare payment model to test whether performance-based incentives for hospitals might improve the hodgepodge system connecting patients who need kidney transplants with viable organs. The model would measure hospital performance based on the number of kidney transplants, organ acceptance rates and quality of transplant care. Based on those metrics, hospitals would either receive bonus payments from the CMS — up to $8,000 per transplant — or be penalized for poor performance, up to $2,000 per transplant."
