It doesn't always go exactly to plan... This week we held the second event in our Changemaker Series, The Sustainable Business Leader. ✅ Guests confirmed ✅ Private dining area booked There was nothing left to do but enjoy an evening of mouth-watering food in great company. But then, the dreaded illness bug struck. We received a couple of messages in quick succession from guests who could no longer make it due to illness. Of course, we were disappointed they couldn’t join us, but we’re hoping they'll join us at one of our upcoming events. Rescheduling wasn’t ever an option – the show must go on! The result? An evening of genuinely open and inspiring conversation between like-minded people. Stories were told, a multitude of topics were covered and some seriously good food was eaten. A wonderful event. A BIG thank you to everyone who joined us and shared so openly - we hope you enjoyed your evening as much as we did. We’re a people-first agency; ensuring our events are diverse and inclusive is incredibly important to us. Unfortunately, due to illness, we didn't achieve the diversity we had hoped for, albeit a genuinely fantastic evening. Tickets for our next event, 'The Business Leaders Brunch' are now live. I recently read an article from a well-known PA publication about getting ahead with event planning. Two of their top tips were creating a to-do list and remembering to serve non-alcoholic drinks. Seriously?! That isn't key advice to help you smash an event (and raise your profile). After successfully organising several large-scale offsite conferences, here are a few of mine: ➡️ Go beyond the brief - When searching for a venue, throw in a wildcard option. More often than not, this is the one that is selected. ➡️ Schedule regular check-ins with key stakeholders - Update them on your progress and use these meetings to gain alignment. Be sure to come prepared with your thoughts and insights. ➡️ Network - This is an excellent opportunity for exposure across the Leadership Team and the wider business. You want to be the one they think of when another event needs organising. ➡️ Delegate feedback - If appropriate, create a post-event evaluation survey and send it out the day after the event. You want constructive feedback, so try to preempt any issues delegates might have during the event and put solutions in place.
