Details of 3 approved #Indian semiconductor plants worth INR 1,26,000 Cr (over $15 billion) - 2 Packaging & 1 FAB. 1. INR 91,000 Cr (around $11 billion) commercial #semiconductor fab by Tata Group and Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp #PSMC in Gujrat’s Dholera. This will be India’s 1st semiconductor fabrication plant. 2. INR 27,000 Cr ($3.25 billion) semiconductor ATMP facility by Tata Group’s Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Pvt Ltd (TSAT) in Assam’s Morigaon. 3. INR 7,600 Cr (around $900 million) another semiconductor ATMP facility by Murugappa Group’s CG Power in partnership with Japan’s Renesas Electronics and Thailand’s Starsmicroelectronics ( Thailand ) Plc in Gujrat’s Sanand. While, earlier approved Micron Technology’s $2.75 billion semiconductor packaging facility is currently under construction Gujrat’s Sanand and is expected to start operation by March 2025. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led the ground-breaking ceremony in #Bhubaneswar’s EMC Park, Infovalley. The facility, set up by RIR Power Electronics Limited (Formerly Known as RUTTONSHA) with an #investment of Rs 620 crore, marks a critical step in positioning India, and particularly Odisha, as a leader in the global power electronics sector. The company is known for its broad international reach, selling products across North America, Europe, and Asia, and catering to industries like Railway, Defence, Power, Transportation, Aerospace, and Sustainable Energy.
