The event was a resounding success with fans engaging directly with both local talents and renowned K-pop artistes such as RAIN, Jay Park, CL, JESSI, Sandara Park, BIBI, and KWON EUNBI. A blast of my weekend Happy to share the key moment of full-house party at Gác Mê - a new art space in Thảo Điền, on the second floor of Nam Mê Kitchen & Bar. The event Sippin' Across Vietnam was full of joy, excitement, dope music and great connections. It was booming with more than 300 guests, so much more than we can imagine.. I truly believe in the amazing outcomes by connecting the right people with the same mindsets. Together, we will make an impactful collaboration and bring the best we can to our audiences, from that, we will gain so much consolidated value that I can ever imagine. This time, we co-host the event with @nomo.aeo - a community full of cool young expats. The event was planned in 2 months, less than 5 meetings. The results are awesome: - Nam Mê gained lots of traffic and awareness of local neighborhood in Thao Dien after the event, and revenue is skyrockted also - Nomo had a beautiful space to curate a big party - Gác Mê has doubled the followers and acquired 4 leads of future collaboration with artists / art scouters. Catering by Nam Mê Kitchen & Bar Venue by Gác Mê Community Nomo Arts by Dano Cuarvo Music by CLUBMATES, Quân Xmas and Steven Vo It all about expanding, expanding, expanding. Advertisement is a way, yes, but partnership is a much more powerful. I am currently looking for new opportunities to collab and support communities for Nam Mê & Gác Mê (venue and catering, F&B in Thao Dien). If you need a beautiful, aesthetics venue and have an event idea in mind for your audiences, DM me to share more. #Marketing #venue #artspace #Thaodien #event

Hong Kong's AsiaWorld-Expo will debut ComplexCon Asia in March 2022, featuring creative voices across fashion 👕 , sneakers 👟 , music 🎹 , food 🍲 , and more. Known as the "Festival of the Future," the event looks like something much bigger than a temporary clearance outlet (we've seen a lot of those in Hong Kong) with guests spending an average of US$600 and generating US$30 million in on-site revenue at previous US editions, as reported by the news. Hong Kong has always been a hub for B2B expositions, generating billions of dollars in economic returns annually. While internet and shifts in economic activities are bringing the city's traditional expo on a plateau, consumer events creating values irreplaceable by digital, like concerts 🎶 and expositions with multi-experiential & entertainment elements 🛍 👨💼 👨🎤 😋 (knows as "Expotainment events" by the industry), are providing the growth momentum for the future. ComplexCon is a typical example what Hong Kong's event business landscape is needed. #ComplexConAsia #FestivaloftheFuture #HongKongEvents #CreativeVoices #Fashion #Sneakers #Music #Food #Expotainment #HongKongHub #BusinessEvents #EconomicReturns #MultiExperiential #Entertainment #SupportHongKongEvents #asiaworldexpo AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited

Edit: I finally blogged about this matter - https://lnkd.in/gjtesJ4h The original post is also adjusted below. Hello, LinkedIn! We just concluded TOYCON 2024 at SMX Manila (Disclosure: I helped the team as staff while documenting the said event) and I have nothing but gratitude that this year's event is overall successful. This is my 8th year working as part of the team that brings the best of pop culture in the country, since it moved to SMX Manila for the first time in 2016. Following Pokeverse held two weeks ago, another event flopped hard. We talk about the NijiPop Culture Festival in Cebu, part of central Philippines. I am doing my best to understand the fiasco, but I am understanding from multiple accounts that: 1. There're only two main head organizers in the process of building this event. Could be one with how I understand that one of them bailed out. 2. There's lack of accountability to take care of the local guests and artists, most especially those coming from outside Cebu, as well as their carelessness because they are said to have prioritized taking in the guests first without securing the venue and making excuses for it. 3. They didn't listen to the advice of those who have already organized events, even the ones from the local cup sleeve event scene who are also part of NijiPop's staff. There're lots of stories to understand regarding the matter - I have to fully read an account which was produced in a research paper format (a thesis?!), but overall, the addition of NijiPop to the trash pile of events with bad outcomes is giving our country a bad reputation internationally. I have more to say regarding this matter but let me rest first, as this issue kept me awake for long.

Technology has integrated into human life, not only enhancing speed and increasing productivity but also providing a completely new experience that has transformed our traditional lifestyles and our perception of the value of life. The recent opening of the Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort in South Korea at the end of 2023 brought surprises to tourists, offering a completely new entertainment experience. Further surprises brought about by technological advancements, particularly in compliance services, are evident. The Digital Economy initiatives spearheaded by MDEC in our country will ultimately drive the growth of professionals offering borderless services, contrasting with the current focus on the domestic market. Whether you embrace it or not, technology will bring about significant changes in the ways professionals work and live. #WezmartConsulting #bpoSA360 #DigitalWorkspace #DigitalEconomy #MDEC

Five days until kick off for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. This will be my 12th consecutive Festival and each year there are more and more ‘Top Tips’ from the Jurors, team, and repeat festival attendees on how to “do Cannes”. Of course it would be remiss of me to offer anything other than the most #Effective tips - so here are my Top Tips on how to have an Effective #CannesLions. 1. Plan your diary - arrange breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffees, afternoon cocktails, post dinner drinks, early morning swims, parties, Festival sessions (and of course don’t forget to diarise 15.15-15.45 Thursday 20 June https://lnkd.in/eBthy4yb) - its not everyday you will get to see me taking on the role of an Inglorious B***ard CEO (seriously), whilst we unpack brand new findings from a comprehensive study into levels of alignment across the CEO/CFO/CMO trifecta… 2. Get ready for your diary to not go at all to plan. 3. Carry portable phone charges - see point above - everybody's day becomes fluid (some fluidity more down to rose consumption than others) - get ready to reschedule, rebook and reset. 4. Plan at least two days post #CannesLions to do your follow up, not just resetting your liver, but your reaching out to those new and old contacts you bumped into on the Croisette and nailing those potential new business opportunities. 5. Flat comfortable shoes are a must - its been said before, but that doesn’t make it any less effective. The Croissette is just under 1.5miles long, and whilst you won’t need to head to the end of it, and back, every time.. you will be making multiple trips up and down throughout the day. Day in day out. Comfortable shoes, trust me… 6. And as a corollary to the above, a bike is even bigger win…. 7. Check out the work in the basement - when else do you get time to see the BEST creativity from all over the world in the one place. Take it - and question it, what worked, how do you think it worked, review and learn. 8. Check out the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity #CreativeEffectiveness Awards show - I’m honoured to be a Cannes Lions Effectiveness master, and to have helped pull the criteria together for its launch back in 2011. Fast forward to 2024 and its an effective way of seeing at a glance commercial creativity at work. 9. Talk to everyone, The Effectiveness Partnership is a UK-based business and we have built our worldwide client base through sometimes serendipitous conversations on the Croisette. 🌍 10. Talk to me. We have helped deliver hundreds actually frankly 1000's of effectiveness cases across #CannesLions, #Effies, WARC, IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) and more. And we do this by upskilling your team and embedding cultures of effectiveness in clients and agency teams. Message me - it will be the most effective thing you do across the 5 days of the Festival.

I used to treat National day as just another public holiday For a long time, I didn’t understand the purpose of celebrating festivals. In my family, we don’t even really celebrate Chinese New Year. I also think it was just a long holiday, and do what I do as usual. I tend to stay alone at home, and feel anxious and tired about going to a place which has too many people. Traffic jams, crowded like sardines, oh my god… I wonder why people love doing this. But from another perspective, I feel that it was an under-expression of life. My life was so boring, always serious, no celebration, no connection with people, not having fun. I understand that festivals are intended to group people together and remember how far we have been through. I understand the importance of ceremony. For example, Singapore has a really amazing history. The top leader, Lee Kuan Yew led Singapore from a small rural area into the third largest financial centre in the world, his contribution will always be remembered by us. I feel that it will be a new experience if I let go of any worries and just join the celebration of festivals, and have fun. Today is Singapore National Day. Let’s celebrate! Enjoy and have fun. How about you? How do you celebrate National Day? Share me in the comment. ---- Thank you for reading! 📌 My name is Eric Lee, and I'm macro investor. I share knowledge, experiences, ideas, stories, and solutions to common problems that people face in finance and life.

A Tale of Two (or Three…) Cities... #taylorswift begins the Asia leg of The Eras Tour this week, anchoring in #Tokyo for a series of shows that will generate an economic impact of USD $230mm according to Mitsumasa Etoh of Tokyo City University. Later in February the AEG promoted tour will head to Singapore where Swift will be the 2nd artist to play 6 sold out shows at National Stadium this quarter (the first being the Live Nation Entertainment promoted Coldplay shows in January. Not to be forgotten is Bruno Mars, who will be playing three (3) shows in Singapore in April. Credit to Dennis Argenzia for leading those. As Kallang Alive Sport Management Co Pte. Ltd.'s SportsHub hosts nearly 1,000,000 music fans in 4 months across the Swift, Bruno Mars and Coldplay events, #HongKong is left out of the conversation. The city’s cultural events industry is languishing thanks to a haphazard or non-existent large-scale events strategy as well as outdated venue infrastructure (the new, world-class Kai Tak stadium won’t open until 2025). This year’s great big event? An exhibition football march in which Lionel Messi’s InterMiami played….the local Hong Kong team. Messi failed to take the field due to injury leading to resounding boos from the assembled fans, a public apology from first time events promoter Tatler, and an immediate government rebuke and clawback of committed funds. Not the impact the organizers were hoping for. In the coming weeks I’ll be detailing ❓ How Singapore Tourism Board, SportsHub and AEG have created a model for destination music tourism 👀 How the region’s strongest brands (and Culture Group clients) UOB, Marina Bay Sands and Klook have served as purveyors and enablers of cultural moments 💰 The role of the ‘Cultural Wallet’ in driving discretionary spending you never knew your customers were capable of 👨🏫 How Culture Group Pte Ltd has worked with clients to participate in and dominate these cultural moments Marshall Nu Sheryl Cai Ross H. As I prepare for another Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, I am filled with anticipation and excitement. If not for the pandemic pause, this would be my 25th year attending this incredible event. Like all of you, I am so happy the festival is back and bigger and better than ever, and I can’t wait to hear from some of the industry’s sharpest minds and most creative thinkers this week. Cannes is the perfect place to see everyone and do everything, all at once. From servicing DiGennaro Communications’s global roster of leading brands. publishers, platforms and agencies to swapping ideas with journalists and industry peers, it is a hub where connections are made and ideas come to life. With so many of our clients and other friends on the ground, Cannes is that rare chance to engage face-to-face—and the collective power of the guests at Cannes, like at the annual POSSIBLE conference this past April in Miami, means lots of opportunities for deal-making. If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed about it all (and who isn’t?), here are a few tips I’ve come to find useful over the years: 1) Survey the Croisette Early. Do a dry run before it gets too crowded. Check out all the activations and set-ups. This year will bring some changes due to construction, so it’s essential to stay updated. 2) It’s All About Logistics. Cannes is a very walkable city, but staying on top of all the where’s and when’s will save you a lot of time and hassle. 3) Go Off the Beaten Path. While everyone at Cannes seems to compete for the same five restaurants, I encourage you to be adventurous. The side streets offer fantastic dining options—after all, you can never go wrong with frites, profiteroles and, of course, rosé! 4) Be Prepared. You never know whom you’ll run into or find yourself sitting by. While old-school business cards might seem a relic of the past, they still do the trick when it comes to rapid-fire networking. 5) Embrace Spontaneity. While it’s tempting to overcommit, the most magical moments very often come from simply bumping into people. Be sure to leave space in your calendar for those spontaneous opportunities. This is shaping up to be the biggest Cannes Lions ever. If you can’t make it, be sure to follow #TeamDGC’s live coverage on Instagram and Twitter, Inc. X, and daily recaps of all the highlights here on LinkedIn. And if you are going to be on the ground, I look forward to seeing you there. Bon semaine! #CannesLions2024 #Innovation #Creativity #Marketing #Advertising #Media #Tech #Brands #TeamDGC #DGCannes2024
