A key focus of our work at Magentus is breaking down boundaries between traditionally siloed disciplines and building organisational capacity for greater cross-team collaboration. We make sure to model the benefits of this approach in our own workplace through events such as ‘HackAssist: PM Division Hackathon 2024’ – bringing together teams from across Magentus | Practice Management to help build internal tooling and applications that make lives easier for all our teams. Under the enthusiastic organisation of our Engineering Manager Matt Dillon, HackAssist saw team members from each department pitch ideas that would increase the effectiveness of their operations – a great example of the kind of strategic thinking, knowledge sharing and cross-team collaborations we are taking out to the world. By designing better internal tools and processes in areas like data migration and customer support, we can streamline day-to-day tasks, allowing team members to concentrate on helping our valued customers.

Embracing Team Spirit: A Crab-Tastic Team-Building Experience! At Ad Astra, Inc. we believe that strong teams are built on shared experiences, laughter, and good food! Recently, our team came together for an unforgettable evening of cracking crabs, sharing stories, and building stronger bonds over delicious seafood and endless laughter. There's something magical about the way food brings people together, and our crab feast was no exception. As we tackled the challenge of cracking open those stubborn crab shells, we found ourselves cheering each other on, sharing tips and tricks, and bonding over the messy yet incredibly rewarding experience. Global teamwork makes the dreamwork! Having spend some time with my international colleagues last week, I would like to pause for a minute to look back and be thankful. Working in a global role often means that you don't get to sit in the same room as the people that you have a meeting with. Therefore, getting the chance to meet up in person with your colleagues from around the globe, feels even more special: Sitting in one room, talking with each other, learning from each other, aligning, collaborating, laughing. What a great time! ...and if you then get the chance to spend a day at RecFest together - learning about innovations, getting inspired - you can easily come to the conclusion that this last week was a very special week. Congratulations to Daniel Borup Andersen! This marks a new organizational chapter for us. Seven years ago, we founded InCommodities to rethink how data and technology are used in energy trading while fostering a workplace culture where individuals can thrive and excel. Autonomy and distributed decision-making have been central to our leadership philosophy - and are essential for the well-being of our team. I’m convinced that this approach, combined with our exceptional team, has made us one of the most successful EnergyTech companies globally. As a natural next step in our growth ambitions, we're establishing a decentralized management and organizational structure in Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America, allowing us as founders to focus on steering the company's future. Daniel Borup Andersen will lead InCommodities Europe, while my co-founders Emil Kildegaard Gerhardt and Jeppe Højgaard will lead APAC and North America, respectively, during this transitional phase. Daniel’s extensive expertise in quantitative forecasting and algorithmic trading aligns perfectly with our strategic goals, and I’m confident that the best is still to come. Co-founder Christian Bach is passing on the CFO role in InCommodities Europe to Katrine Bondgaard, who brings over six years with us and 11 years in the industry. These changes reflect our commitment to autonomous, distributed leadership and staying true to our core values. These updates took effect on September 1st.
I’m thrilled to announce that, as of September 1, 2024, I’ve taken on the role of CEO for InCommodities Europe! This opportunity fills me with both excitement and humility. While I have much to give, I know there’s still plenty to learn. At InCommodities, nothing is average, and I’m proud to embrace this new challenge. When I first joined InCommodities, I was fascinated by the ambition and high level of mastery here – that's what drew me to the company. I have since learned how unique the culture is and how essential it is for enabling meaningful relations and driving strong performance. Yesterday evening, our company-wide team meeting turned into something truly special. We played a simple yet powerful game: each of us shared one fond (and sometimes mischievous) event from our lives. What unfolded was incredible. From stories of bunking classes to catch a movie to sneaky antics like altering results, the room was filled with laughter and surprises. We also got a glimpse into each other's worlds—our families, our upbringings, and what shaped us into the individuals we are today. For some, the stories were especially fascinating. Who would have thought that the person who once bunked school for weeks is now managing complex projects with precision? It's amazing how life takes us on unexpected journeys—often leading us to roles we never imagined we'd excel at. It also strengthened our connections, fostered trust, and gave us a newfound appreciation for the diverse paths that led us to this team.
