📆 More than two years after founding Amplexd Therapeutics, it remains surreal to speak about my health journey publically, and in particular, to see it in print. 🫰 If it were only to benefit my company's bottom line, I couldn't do it. I'm too private a person by nature. 🚺 I do it because gynecologic ailments are so common in women; from UTIs to candida albicans to endometriosis, PCOS, pregnancy complications, and cervical precancers (and cancer), yet, we frequently suffer in silence. 🔇 Oftentimes, our partners and families don't even know. ✈️ This summer, at a panel discussion in Hong Kong, I shared the following: "I am not ashamed of the act that brought me into this world, nor should you be." I try to live by this statement. 🙅♀️ My want for all human beings is to eliminate shame from the equation. If, through the narration of my own story and vulnerability, I can inspire others to do the same, then it's a worthy initiative. Case: Histologically proven moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of esophagus. Patient is 21 weeks pregnant. Complaint of dysphagia to both solid and liquids for last 7 months with associated chest pain, GERD, weight loss, regurgitation of food, back pain and constipation. Technique: 1 glass of water 20G cannula Weight 35kg Contrast 48ml @ 2.2ml/sec 25ml saline pushed Consent form was signed before the procedure CT findings: Mid to distal esophageal non-invasive tumor. Bilateral few subcentemetric pulmonary nodules in perifissural and subpleural locations. Probable radiological stage is T2/3 N0 M0. Intrauterine gestational sac seen with fetus.
