What will EHRs be able to do 10 years from now? That’s the question Becker's Healthcare recently asked top healthcare executives. They considered the addition of AI, ambient listening and more, envisioning EHRs that offer more data visualization, asynchronous care and care coordination capabilities. They also said EHRs will take on a more proactive role, using predictive analytics to personalize treatment plans and more. 50% of healthcare organizations are still not fully optimizing their existing EHR capabilities. Not so fast, cautions Kathy Krypel, our Managing Director of Enterprise Applications. She recommends achieving EHR standardization and optimization before moving forward. Once those things are accomplished, it will be easier to achieve interoperability, perfect foolproof virtual access to primary/specialty care and enhance ambient listening tools. https://lnkd.in/g3j9-Amg I #EHR #EHRs #Interoperability #DataSharing #PredictiveAnalytics

I’m inviting you to read the fascinating interview with Ran Balicer. Here's a quote about our C-Pi - Clalit AI platform: “One significant innovation is our AI platform for general practice in primary care. Primary care is the most crucial healthcare subsector, yet it is often underutilized, underfinanced, and lacks proper attention and infrastructure in many healthcare systems. To support the work of primary care physicians, we have developed an AI-driven platform called C-Pi (Clalit Proactive-Preventive Interventions). This system provides every physician with an easily accessible, one-screen interface that offers fully explainable AI insights. Nothing is a black box. Every recommendation is broken down to the medical logic behind it, allowing physicians to trust it gradually. The platform provides two types of insights. It identifies which patients should be brought in for proactive appointments to prevent potential future issues. This prioritization is based on many data points, risk factors, and potential negative outcomes״ https://lnkd.in/djAww7AX

“Driving Patient Access and Decreasing Tech Debt in Healthcare with AI - with Aaron Chamberlain of INTERMOUNTAIN HEALTH GROUP, LTD.” https://lnkd.in/ec7VBzS8 INTERMOUNTAIN HEALTH GROUP, LTD., a not-for-profit healthcare system headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, encompasses 385 clinics and 33 hospitals committed to fostering healthier communities and enabling patient prosperity. Technical debt represents a pervasive challenge within the healthcare sector, and – as Aaron Chamberlain, Senior Medical Director at Intermountain Health explains to Emerj Artificial Intelligence Research Senior Editor Matthew DeMello on the ‘AI in Business’ podcast – his organization is hardly an exception. A significant contributor to technical debt is the complex and ever-evolving landscape of healthcare regulations, necessitating the implementation of temporary, often suboptimal, technical solutions that require subsequent refinement. The scenario underscores the ongoing struggle to balance regulatory compliance with the optimal use of technology. Additionally, the dynamic nature of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems introduces further complications, as they struggle to accommodate the fluidity of data knowledge, leading to inconsistencies and, ultimately, additional technical debt. This article highlights insights from Chamberlain and DeMello’s conversation relevant for healthcare leaders trying to solve similar problems, examining two principal areas of focus: - Creating an enhanced, seamless patient experience - Integrating new technologies into existing healthcare systems
