How Mentoring can have a positive impact on Health and Safety. This is @Daniel Love our young supervisor pictured here receiving a gift voucher and positive feedback on raising SOR/Good Save cards. These reports help identify health and safety requirements on site as well as encouraging operatives to spot opportunities for bettering the health and safety of everyone. They often get misunderstood, that these are just for ticking boxes for senior management but a good quality report can have a really positive impact on the health and safety of others. Get involved as you can also receive a good reward.

Board Education: Does your board have an ongoing policy about board education? I get it! Agendas are tight and time is valuable. But, where could your board stand to benefit from some updated education? Here are just a few topics that should be on a rotating schedule: 🖌️Fundraising 🖌️Roles and responsibilities 🖌️Board/CEO/Staff relationships 🖌️Recruitment 🖌️Strategic planning 🖌️Fiduciary responsibility 🖌️Conflict of Interest From rookie to seasoned board members, everyone can use a little reminder about their role as a board member and/or officer. You probably have a mix of experience depth and levels among your group. You hope each person brings some level of knowledge about governance practices. Yet, it is short-sighted to assume that even your most seasoned member has a full and complete understanding of the issues that might arise, let alone how their role compares with their peers and with the CEO and other staff. Nonprofit management and governance policies and procedures evolve over time and renewing understanding from time to time is good practice. For 40 years, I’ve planned and presented regular board education components and I’d love to help you. Would you like to chat about options to introduce these topics or even bring in a guest speaker? Drop a comment below or send me a DM and let’s talk!
