Volvo Trucks scores five stars in the independent safety test! For the first time, the European consumer test organisation Euro NCAP assessed the safety of heavy-duty trucks. Volvo’s best-selling models, the Volvo FH and the Volvo FM, both received the top rating of five stars. ⭐ The Mercedes-Benz Actros L brings off three stars ⭐ Euro NCAP recently published the first set of results from its pioneering TRUCK SAFE assessment programme. The Actros L, from the German Mercedes-Benz, takes a good star rating of three stars. 🚚 Daimler Trucks declined to provide a vehicle for testing, so Euro NCAP rated a well-specified model first registered in July 2024. According to the manufacturer, it does not reflect the safety performance of their latest generation released later in 2024. The tested Actros L earned a solid rating. Despite being the tallest truck in this sector, its CMS contributes to a strong Safe Driving score. 🏆 The VW Caddy Cargo brings home a Platinum 🏆 Euro NCAP awards the VW #CaddyCargo a Safety Assist Performance of 83%. The Caddy name has been around for decades, referring to several generations of VW commercial vehicles. The vehicle tested here is the fifth generation, in diesel form. ⭐ The SCANIA G-Series earns four stars ⭐ Euro NCAP - For Safer Cars, Vans & Trucks recently published the first set of results from its pioneering TRUCK SAFE assessment programme. The G-Series, from the Swedish SCANIA, takes a very good star rating of four stars. It is also awarded the City Safe, a recognition given to trucks that feature technologies or good design that can prevent accidents that typically happen in cities or urban environments. 🚚 The Scania G-series was tested as a partner version of the R. The vision fundamentals are good and benefit from the lower cab mounting height. Its Collision Avoidance performance is good in most areas, and AEB VRU combined with good vision earns it our City Safe accreditation. Overall, it’s a safe choice in a mix of environments, provided the appropriate options are selected.🛣️ "Well done, Scania, for producing a very safe truck for the highway and the city and being one of three brands to get a coveted CitySafe award. ⭐ The Renault Trucks T achieves four stars ⭐ Euro NCAP - For Safer Cars, Vans & Trucks recently published the first set of results from its pioneering TRUCK SAFE assessment programme. The T, from the French Renault, takes a very good star rating of four stars. 🚚 The T earns a strong rating due largely to its high-quality Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS), getting balanced points across both Safe Driving and Collision Avoidance, most of which is standard fitment. It is more limited in its direct vision performance, although its recent addition of a CMS system has improved its overall Safe Driving score. Combined with the more limited direct vision, this makes it more suitable for the highway rather than the city. 🛣️ "Euro NCAP congratulates Renault Trucks on the impressive four-star performance of the T. The truck demonstrated very good collision avoidance and safe driving capabilities. FIVE STARS! ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our best-selling truck models Volvo FH Aero and Volvo FM have been awarded the highest safety rating of five stars by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). In total, nine trucks from seven brands were tested, and our trucks achieved the best results of all trucks. 🚛 🚚 Both Volvo FH Aero and Volvo FM performed exceptionally well in driver support and collision avoidance, delivering traffic safety for the driver and surrounding road users. Additionally, both Volvo models fulfil the so-called City Safe criteria, thanks to good vision and good performance of Volvo’s active safety systems, designed to protect vulnerable road users in city traffic situations.
