A big thank you to all guests who decided to use the afternoon together with my colleagues and myself. Christmas time is special time and at this "julefrokost" it was again Pulse Kitchen with Michael Tingsager (MCIPD) and his colleague Chris who made and excellent lunch to something better. I know where I vote my "stars". Thank you to all guests and Pulse Kitchen
We remember, together.
Today marks 80 years since June 6, 1944, when 160,000 service members made history by embarking on the Allied invasion of Normandy, France.
We honor the legacy of those who fought for our freedom, and celebrate the teamwork of the millions back home who supported them.

Alfonso I of Aragon (reigned 1104-1134 AD) granted extensive estates, essentially the majority of his kingdom due to the absence of an heir, to the Knights Hospitaller and Knights Templar. These military orders, comprising professional warrior-monks, played a crucial role in the defense of the Crusader States in the Middle East. Though the initial attraction faced some reduction from Spanish nobility, it eventually proved successful, leading both orders to contribute knights to the Reconquista—the Templars in 1143 AD and the Hospitallers in 1148 AD.
Furthermore, the Iberian peninsula witnessed the establishment of its own indigenous military orders. The Order of Calatrava, founded in 1158 AD, became renowned for its knights clad in distinctive black armor. The 1170s AD marked a notable period for the creation of additional military orders. The Order of Santiago was formed in 1170 AD, followed by Montjoy in Aragon in 1173 AD, Alcantara in 1176 AD, and in Portugal, the Order of Evora around 1178 AD. Notably, these local orders held a significant advantage in that they were not obligated to allocate a third of their revenue to a headquarters in the Middle East, unlike the Templars and Hospitallers.
The surge in professional adventurers from various parts of Europe, particularly northern France, and Norman Sicily, was another noteworthy development. The allure of riches in southern Spain drew these warriors to join forces with Christian Spanish rulers, augmenting the military strength aligned against the Muslim forces in the region.
Which military order do you find most fascinating in the context of the Reconquista—Knights Templar, Knights Hospitaller, or one of the local orders like the Order of Calatrava?

Some key reasons to choose one of my Normandy D Day Tours; A maximum of just 6 people (so perhaps a family group or group of friends) but people known to each other. Flexibility, because of the way the tours are designed, we can be felxible in what we see and how long we stay at any given point of interest, (for example the Braves Memorial at Omaha Beach). Informative & interesting, delivered by a tour guide with previous military experience. https://lnkd.in/gUcc2yF6
Ever wondered Why Special Forces across the globe Perform Hell March During Ceremonial Parades ?
The Hell March is more than just a synchronized display of military precision. It symbolizes the strength, discipline, and unbreakable resolve of special forces around the world. Whether it’s the National Security Guard (NSG) in India, the Israeli Sayeret Matkal, or the US Navy SEALs, the Hell March conveys a universal message: we are the shield of the nation.
This powerful parade march, often performed on national days or significant military ceremonies, highlights three core aspects of any special force:
1. Discipline: The synchronized steps reflect the rigorous training and commitment to unity that these elite soldiers endure.
2. Strength: The march is symbolic of the physical and mental fortitude required to operate in extreme conditions.
3. Fearlessness: The Hell March signifies the undeterred courage and resilience of forces trained to undertake the most dangerous missions.
Why Is It Important ?
For special forces, ceremonial parades are more than tradition—they are an affirmation of readiness and an opportunity to honor their commitment to serve at the highest level. The Hell March serves as a reminder of the values these warriors hold dear: dedication, loyalty, and sacrifice. It is a visual manifestation of their relentless pursuit of excellence.
Across the globe, from the French GIGN to the British SAS, the Hell March is a testament to the indomitable spirit that sets these forces apart from the rest. It is a signal to their adversaries, but more importantly, an inspiration to their citizens.
Some of the Special Forces Known for Their Hell Marching -
India: NSG, Para SF, Garud Commando Force
Israel: Sayeret Matkal, Shayetet 13
USA: Navy SEALs, Delta Force
Russia: Spetsnaz
Ceremonial parades where the Hell March is performed are moments of pride, as they encapsulate the enduring spirit of military readiness and serve as a powerful visual metaphor for national security.

France's Charles de Gaulle Aircraft Carrier Is a True Naval Masterpiece
The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle’s service history is highly respectable. However, France still plans to introduce a next-generation carrier sometime in the next decade. The Porte-Avions Nouvelle Génération (PANG) is eventually expected to replace Charles de Gaulle. Summary: France's naval tradition remains strong, epitomized by the formidable...
Sinking of the Swedish Warship, The Vasa
The Vasa was a Swedish warship built between 1626 and 1628. The ship sank after only sailing roughly 1,400 yards into its maiden voyage on August 10, 1628. Now, resurrected from the sea, the Vasa represents a widely-recognized symbol of the Swedish “great power period.” Vasa is now housed permanently in a museum dedicated to her, the Vasa Museum, and is one of Sweden’s most popular tourist attractions with more than 35 million visitors. While Vasa is triumphant today, her seafaring was not. What caused this ship to sink?
The Vasa was built on the orders of King of Sweden Gustavus Adolphus. Hoping to expand his military, Adolphus initiated a war with Poland-Lithuania. The Vasa was constructed in the navy yard in Stockholm and armed with bronze cannons. At her completion, the Vasa was one of the most powerfully armed vessels in the world. However, all that armor made the Vasa dangerously unstable, and too much weight was placed in the upper structure of the hull.

💡 Did you know that the beginnings of RFC are related to the rebuild of the Spanish navy destroyed in the Spanish-American War in Cuba?
🛳 Yes, it is! The naval sector has been part of the DNA of REINOSA FORGINGS & CASTINGS SL since its beginnings in 1918. We currently manufacture components such as propulsion shafts, brackets, stern post and rudder horns for air craft carriers and frigates of the most important navies in the world. In fact, we are partners of the Clúster Marítimo de Cantabria - MarCA ⚓ since 2018.
