ASCARO Elevates Padel in Malaysia as the Exclusive Distributor of Padel Galis KUALA LUMPUR, 7 November 2024 – ASCARO has formed a strategic partnership with Padel Galis, the Spanish padel court manufacturer, becoming their exclusive distributor in Malaysia. Since opening the ASCARO Padel & Social Club in Kuala Lumpur over a year ago, the facility has set a high standard for padel courts in the region, using top-quality materials to ensure durability and long-term investment returns. As padel grows in popularity across Southeast Asia, ASCARO aims to elevate the sport while staying true to its roots. The region's challenging weather conditions, including high humidity and heavy rains, demand high-quality courts, and Padel Galis’ courts are designed to withstand these factors. While cheaper alternatives exist, they often face wear-and-tear issues such as oxidation and cracking, which increase maintenance costs. ASCARO’s collaboration with Padel Galis will provide local clubs and players with world-class facilities that meet international standards, helping to further develop padel in Malaysia. The partnership reflects a shared vision for promoting padel with durable, premium solutions. Did you know that padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world? 🌍 Originating in Mexico in the 1960s, padel quickly captured the hearts of sports enthusiasts and has since seen an astounding surge in popularity. Its growth rate has been remarkable, with an estimated increase of 10% annually worldwide. Particularly in Spain, padel has become the second most popular sport after football, with over 20,000 courts and millions of active players. The sport is also gaining substantial traction in countries like Italy, Sweden, and even beyond Europe, such as Argentina and Brazil, where it is becoming a staple in sports facilities. At Padel Courts Deluxe, we've been at the forefront of this expansion, designing and manufacturing courts that go beyond meeting player expectations, they enhance the playing experience. Each of our courts is crafted with precision, considering every detail from structure to perimeter enclosures, ensuring optimal play conditions that respect the sport's unique characteristics. Is it me being ultra negative, or is the LTA strategy for Padel a bit thin on the ground? it is 9 pages long. 2 pages are bookends, 1 title page, an overview page, a page of facts. That leaves 4 pages that give an information about the 5 year strategy itself. And what do they say? One objective is to increase courts from 500 courts now to 1000 in 2026. Is that really a stretch given what we in the industry know about the pipeline? Also, how are the LTA proposing they help in achieving this given nearly all investment is coming from private sources? And what else do they say? Invest, grow, engage, diversify, perform, lead. And the tactics? Make padel accessible, welcoming, enjoyable and inspiring. Quite interesting that this is how padel has developed thus far without their help (more of a hinderence) and the opposite of what my experience of the LTA is (inaccessible, unwelcoming, unenjoyable and uninspiring). Is this really as good as the LTA gets? Happy to meet and discuss Tom Murray to see if you can convince me otherwise.
